2026 HSA Changes — Patient Impact

Previously, HSA eligibility was limited to High-Deductible Health Plans (HDHPs).

• HDHPs — lower premiums, higher out-of-pocket expenses
• Bronze & Catastrophic plans - lower premiums with higher deductibles, designed for affordability and protection against major medical expenses

3 Key Changes in 2026:

1 & 2. Telehealth and DPC arrangements no longer automatically disqualify HSA eligibility
3. HSA eligibility has expanded from HDHP-only --> HDHP + Bronze + Catastrophic plans 🏅

What remains the same:

• The HSA triple-tax advantage — including the use of pre-tax funds toward qualified medical expenses, including MDVIP membership
