The triumph of having the birth you want:

“Obviously when (my first child) was finally delivered it was an amazing moment, but I didn’t feel like I had done it. (I know, I know, I HAD.) I almost felt a little betrayed by my body.

But this moment, I felt so unbelievably proud, triumphant. I was like… I DID IT. I had the exact birth I wanted. I just did something incredible.”

There’s a quote among birth workers- “Everyone wants to hold the baby, who will hold the mother?” A well chosen birth team does! I love how while mama gave her baby girl her first meal, Dad made sure she got to eat too. 🥰
