Minor Pediatrics will be hosting the kids games, turtle races, bike races, water ballons, etc in front of Navitas Utility in Ochelata on 7/5. Bring your bike, your turtle and your kid! Games will start at the conclusion of the parade. Parade starts at 10 am! Co-ed softball to follow and fireworks at dark! The best small town celebration you will find!

"When we teach kids incorrect names for private body parts, kids get the message that they will get in trouble if they speak about private body parts. They may not confide in adults if someone touches them inappropriately. This practice can shut down vital communication for children, who need adults to help them understand the world.

Sexual abusers rely on secrets and silence to commit their sexual acts. If children believe they cannot even say the names of their private parts, they send a message to abusers that they are safe targets. Abusers think children who are ashamed of their bodies will likely be too embarrassed to ever tell anyone."

Every April, we take the opportunity to post all month about the ways to prevent and report child abuse. We know it is a heavy and complex subject, and that's why we aim to end Child Abuse Prevention Month on a "sweet note"!

Bring your kids to Jareds' Frozen Custard on Tuesday, April 29th, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., where they can enjoy a FREE Kiddie Sundae while supplies last.

We'll have pinwheels, friendship bracelets, and body safety bookmarks, too!
