John William “Bill” Davis, 81, a lifelong resident of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2026, at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa.
Bill was born on November 2, 1944, in Bartlesville to John Randall Davis and Alice Pearl (Robinson) Davis. He grew up in the community he loved and graduated from Bartlesville College High School. In August 1963, he proudly served his country by joining the Army National Guard, where he served until 1971.
On April 3rd, 1981, Bill married the love of his life, Wanda (Duncan), at the Washington County Courthouse. Together, they built a life rooted in love and laughter. Their home in Bartlesville became the heart of their family as they raised one daughter and one son, Amber and Chad, instilling in them the same values of love, kindness and hard work that carried Bill throughout his life.
Bill dedicated 37 years of his career to Phillips Petroleum, where he worked in the credit card department. Outside of work, he was known by many as a true “car guy”. He found great joy in working on and restoring cars and often hitting local car shows whenever he could. He was a proud member of the Oldies and Goodies Car Club, sharing his passion with friends and family alike. Whether under the hood of a car or at a show, Bill’s hobbies were never just hobbies – they were ways he connected with those he loved most. From working in the garage with his son, to going to local car shows with his daughter – he loved his cars and his kids!
Bill also had an eye for antiques and enjoyed going to search out local hidden gems or hitting swap meets to find a good deal. Above all, he cherished time with his family. He was a devoted husband, the best father, and a loving grandfather who treasured every moment with his loved ones. His steady presence, warm heart, and quiet strength will be deeply missed by all that knew him.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, John and Pearl Davis, and his brother, Keith Ivan “Jinx” Davis.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Wanda Davis; his children, Chad Davis; and Amber Maldonado and husband Tony; his grandchildren, Parker and Thomas Maldonado; and his brother, Ken Davis; along with many nieces and a nephew.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home and Cremation Service of downtown Bartlesville. Online condolences may be made to www.honoringmemoriesbartlesville.com.
