It’s time! We are only 60 days away from the 19th annual Sugar Run 5k!!! It’s hard to believe we’ve “been around the block” this many times all in the effort to raise money to help find a cure for type 1 diabetes. Each race has been bigger and better than the last! Since the first run in 2006, the SR5K has raised more than $100,000 given to Beyond Type 1 as doctors and researchers look to cure this disease.

We hope you will come support our cause and have a ton of fun doing it Saturday November 8, 2025!

⚡️⚡️Screening for Type 1 Diabetes is crucial⚡️⚡️

Dr. Latif continues to spread the word and educate healthcare professionals about the importance of screening for T1D. He presented the latest research in Myrtle Beach, SC to the South Carolina Physicians Assistants Conference. Screening can show a person’s chances of developing T1D throughout their lifetime. This can greatly mitigate the shock of diagnosis and the complications that can arise when the disease goes undetected until severe illness develops.
