“Oh, you’re so lucky to be married to a chiropractor—I bet you get adjusted all the time!”

Honestly… not really. 😅 For my body, chiropractic therapies usually work better than adjustments—and that’s perfectly okay.

That’s one of the things that makes Shane different. He never treats everyone the same. He listens, pays attention to how your body responds, and customizes a plan that supports real healing—not a one-size-fits-all approach.

Back to school, back to work… and back to real life 😅

After being closed last week, we’re officially back in the office and happy to be seeing families again. Routines are restarting, schedules are filling up, and everyone’s adjusting — kids and parents included.

✨ What a Year at Ascend Health! ✨

As we wrap up the year, we’re reflecting on a season of growth and sincere gratitude.

This year we were proud to:
• Launch Direct Primary Care, which took off faster than anyone expected
• Help over 300 chiropractic patients move better, heal faster, and feel their best
• Grow our team by hiring everyone’s favorite staff member, Emily 💙
• Join the Memphis Birth Collective and collaborate with incredible local professionals focused on whole-person care, including The Healing Point, Liv Limitless, and Learning Health & Wellness.

We also loved showing up for our community by:
• Hosting our second Perk Before Work Chamber of Commerce breakfast
• Providing meals and treats for several events at Ellendale Elementary School
• Serving officers at the Memphis Police In-Service event
• Sponsoring the Running of the Rams 5K
• Being a stop in Bartlett’s first-ever Hometown Hunt scavenger hunt
• Setting up our first booth at Bartlett Festival
• Adjusting a full line of patients as a vendor at The Skin & Wax Room’s anniversary party

And we were honored to support local youth and school programs by:
• Sponsoring a Bartlett Rec baseball team for the spring season
• Sponsoring the Bartlett Panther Pom squad throughout the year

🦠 Flu Season Update

This year’s flu is hitting harder and lasting longer.

The dominant strain right now is Influenza A (specifically a mutated variant of H3N2 called Subclade K) — a type known for:
• Intense body aches & fatigue
• Higher fevers
• Longer recovery times

Even healthy adults are feeling wiped out for days longer than usual.

💉 About the flu shot:
This year’s vaccine isn’t a perfect match to the leading strain, but it may still reduce severity, complications, and hospitalizations.

💊 If symptoms start:
Don’t wait it out. Antivirals like Tamiflu or Xofluza work best when started within 48 hours and can shorten illness and reduce complications.

We’re seeing flu activity increase locally, and are here to help our patients fight the virus.

Bottom line: This flu is no joke.
Test early. Treat early. Recover quicker.
