Silver Pines Nursing and Rehabilitation Center

Silver Pines Nursing and Rehabilitation Center We provide short and long-term skilled nursing care that helps older adults achieve true wellness. We are a non-profit, and thatโ€™s an important difference.

Our focus is on strengthening the families and communities we care for. Post-operative care, Wound Care, IV Therapy, and an in-house rehabilitation team are some services that make our facility different. Unlike others who contract their therapists, we have an in-house therapy team. This means our goal is to have patients and residents see the same occupational, speech, or physical therapists daily, which builds a strong line of trust and rapport.

November is National Hospice & Palliative Care Month. This month, we honor the compassionate professionals who provide comfort, guidance, and dignity for individuals facing serious illness and end-of-life care. Their support not only eases physical symptoms โ€” it brings peace, connection, and reassurance to residents and their loved ones. ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

At every stage of life, each person deserves to be treated with respect, surrounded by comfort, and supported in the ways that matter most. We are grateful to collaborate with hospice and palliative care partners who help ensure every residentโ€™s final chapters are filled with meaning and care. ๐Ÿ’™

During World Diabetes Month, we spotlight the crucial role of diabetes care in the skilled nursing setting. Managing diabetes is about more than numbersโ€”it's about personalized care plans, daily support, and empowering each individual with the tools they need to maintain their health.

If you haven't been diagnosed, it's important to watch for possible signs:
๐Ÿ”บ Urinating often
๐Ÿ”บ Feeling very thirsty
๐Ÿ”บ Feeling very hungryโ€”even though you're eating
๐Ÿ”บ Extreme fatigue
๐Ÿ”บ Blurry vision
๐Ÿ”บ Cuts or bruises that are slow to heal
๐Ÿ”บ Unintended weight lossโ€”even though you're eating more
๐Ÿ”บ Tingling, pain, or numbness in the hands or feet

This Veterans Day, we proudly honor those who have served our country. Their bravery, strength, loyalty, and commitment to protecting our freedoms continue to inspire us every day.

We had the honor of celebrating forty-five residents who are veterans and three of our team members, too! We are filled with pride as we reflect on the sacrifices these brave men and women made to protect our freedom.

This year, we were privileged to recognize Mr. Pena, a two-time Purple Heart recipient, with a special ceremony in his honor.

A heartfelt thank-you to Bastrop ROTC, Bastrop High School Choir, the Red White & Blue Veterans of Bastrop County, Mayor Harris, and all who joined us in celebrating our veterans!

To all who have served: thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and the legacy you carry forward for future generations.

๐Ÿง  Today is World Stroke Dayโ€”a reminder of the importance of awareness, prevention, and timely care. While the risk of stroke increases with age, it can also affect people under sixty-five, making education and proactive care essential.

If you think someone you know is having a stroke, act FAST.

Navigating life after a stroke can feel overwhelming, but you donโ€™t have to face it alone. Our team creates individualized recovery plans that combine clinical expertise with emotional supportโ€”for patients, families, and caregivers alike.

Prevention matters, too: knowing the signs of stroke and acting FAST can save lives. Together, we can reduce risk, improve recovery, and create more moments that matter. Learn more about stroke care and prevention at WellsentialHealth.org or call to schedule a visit today. โœจ
