What a wonderful day we had today! It was rather warm, but the residents loved the sunshine with the occasional cool breeze. The smell of the burgers on the grill had everyone’s mouths watering and they did not disappoint! 🍔 😋
Then, we had such a treat with snow cones for everyone! Today perfectly rounded out our fun filled Nursing Home week. We are all filled with joy and gratitude… even if we are a little tired. 😜

Flower Power Thursday! We donned our bellbottoms, platform shoes, tie-dye & fringe as we listened to the best of this beloved, by-gone era… the 1960s. Several of the residents got a kick out of seeing their old fashion make a come back for the day! And, of course, they loved listening and singing along to “their” music. Later we had a huge facility wide scavenger hunt. As this years National Nursing Home Week is themed “moments in bloom”, the residents (and their staff member assistants) had to identify various plants, leaves & blooms. Of course it got pretty competitive as everyone raced to check off their lists first! 🌺 🌼 ☮️ Tomorrow we will wrap up our fun filled week with our annual picnic.

Wednesday’s Garden Party! We got all gussied up for our Garden Tea Party. We sipped tea (iced, sweet tea of course! 😜) and nibbled on cookies. Then we got down to business with a spirited round of bags! We were quite impressed!! Mrs Rachel, Mr Charlie, & Mr Jimmy landed the most points but all the residents showed out with their bag chunking skills! Everyone had a great time. 🪴 🌺

The start of Nursing Home Week is off with a bang! Today was our red-white-&-blue balloon release and celebration. Sheriff Mike Tubbs presented our Proclamation kicking off the nursing home week festivities. We also were joined by Rev Ron Williams, Fire Chief Tim Williams, police Chief Leondrio Reed, and several other dignitaries from the community. We’d like to thank each and every person who took time out to come be with our residents. It meant so much!
We all had a great time and went back outside to enjoy more fresh air and popsicles this afternoon!

So much more fun to come throughout the week!!

What a great week we had celebrating our wonderful nurses! We had so much fun playing games, answering quizzes & running around on scavenger hunts & were fed exceptionally well, thanks to our fellow care providers. Stat Home Health started our week with a beautiful fruit tray bc our nurses are “one in a melon”🍉. Tuesday, Freedom Behavioral brought fresh strawberry muffins and yummy juices bc “we love our nurses berry much!” 🍇 Wednesday, Curitec ordered us Johnnys pizza and Sterlington Rehab brought ALL the fixings for banana splits (bc our nurses are so “a-peeling!” 🍌). And, bc of course we need Crumbl Cookies after all that, in walks Premier Hospice! 😋 Haven Home Health took over Thursday with all sorts of yummies and lemon delights bc our nurses are “our main squeeze”. Today we partied hard and rounded out the week. Our amazing therapy crew with Synergy had us a giant cookie cake made that perfectly fit our “Fruits of Nursing” theme (and was delicious!) and Grove Medical donated gift cards that made great prizes! We are so thankful for all of the folks who helped create a special week to celebrate our hardworking, devoted team of nurses. We really do have a great crew and they are each a blessing to us in so many ways. Happy nurses week!

Now, let’s gear up for National Nursing Home Week!! 🎈
