When headaches become part of your daily life, it’s a sign your nervous system may be struggling to adapt. In our office, we don’t just look at where the pain is - we look at WHY it’s happening.

Here are three common types of headaches we see (and support):

✨ Tension Headaches

These often show up as a dull, achy pressure across the forehead or back of the neck. Stress, postural strain, and nervous system overload can cause the muscles around your spine and skull to tighten - making it hard for your body to relax, regulate, and reset.

🌪️ Migraines

More than “just a headache,” migraines can involve nausea, light sensitivity, visual disturbances, and throbbing pain. Nervous system dysregulation and inflammation play a big role here. We focus on reducing stress on the brainstem and restoring healthy communication between the brain and body.

🎯 Cervicogenic Headaches

These stem from misalignments in the neck, often radiating pain behind the eyes or up the back of the head. Poor posture, past injuries, or repetitive stress can all disrupt the flow of information between the spine and nervous system - leading to recurring pain patterns.

You can stretch, sleep, and meditate all you want - but if your nervous system is stuck in a stress state, you’ll still feel off.

Let’s break it down: your nervous system is in charge of everything your body does. From how you sleep and digest to how you think, move, and feel - it’s all connected.

When your nervous system is in a chronic fight-or-flight state, your body stays on high alert. And, it might not look dramatic - it might look like:

You didn’t twist it. You didn’t fall. So why is your knee hurting out of nowhere? 😩 Knee pain that seems to come out of the blue can be super frustrating, but it’s often NOT about the knee itself.

Your nervous system sends signals from your brain to your muscles and joints, telling them how to move and stabilize. If there’s interference in the lower spine or pelvis, those messages can get miscommunicated - leading to instability, misalignment, and eventually…knee pain.

This type of pain often shows up as:

• Achiness or sharp twinges with movement

• Feeling like the knee is “off” or weak

• Discomfort that worsens with walking, squatting, or going up stairs

How chiropractic helps:

✔ Addresses misalignments in the spine and pelvis that impact knee function
✔ Improves nerve flow so muscles can stabilize the joint properly
