(RCI), is a family owned and operated, for-profit agency that provides supports and services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. provides adult day support services, homemaker/personal care services, and non-medical transportation services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our adult day support program, Cane Run Connections (CRC), is a structured f

ull-day program focused on enhancing the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities by encouraging socialization, choice making, independence, community involvement, relationships, personal life skills, and physical/emotional health. Participants have opportunities daily to take part in community activities, success-focused structured activities, as well as leisure-based activities. In addition to the adult day support program, RCI operates six residential homes (two licensed homes and four waiver homes). Our personnel ratios are established using a standardized instrument, the Ohio Developmental Disabilities Profile (ODDP), which assesses the relative needs and circumstances of each person living in a residential home. RCI has a fleet of vehicles, consisting of modified wheelchair accessible vans, 12 passenger vans, and caravans. All vehicles are well maintained and inspected annually by a certified master mechanic in accordance with rule. (RCI) offers adult day support, vocational habilitation, residential, transportation, as well as nursing services to all participants enrolled in our program. The adult day support program, called Cane Run Farm (CRF), has three locations and serves over seventy individuals. Our program offers life skill options to developmentally disabled/special needs adults to explore new areas of personal interest. We provide an alternative to the traditional activity centers for persons with disabilities and encourage individuals to be active and independent with the assistance of warm and caring personnel in an inclusive community environment. The focus of the program is to promote socialization, choice making, and physical and emotional health in skill development areas. With the Residential program, we operate six homes within or near the Village of Williamsburg, in which individuals receive support in the areas of money management, choices and options, transportation, community membership, leisure activities, health and safety, nutrition, medical assistance (nursing and delegated nursing services), and 24-hour supervision. Moreover, in the spring of 2013, we will be offering vocational habilitation services with employment opportunities to developmentally disabled/special needs adults. This program will operate as a functional garden center that will be open to the general public. The focus of the program will be to teach and reinforce responsibility; attendance; task completion; problem solving; social interaction; motor skill development; and safety. Those eligible for participation in the program must also attend the adult day support program to meet the necessary requirements. The individuals will have job opportunities in plant care and customer service and will be compensated according to state and federal laws. Additionally, Residential Concepts, Inc. provides non-medical Transportation to and from our adult day support program as well as community outings. Transportation (both medical and non-medical) is provided for all individuals residing in our homes. Finally, with our Nursing Program, we employ two Registered Nurses (RNs) and one Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), who are available Monday-Friday to assist with adult day support needs as well as residential needs (nursing staff is also “on-call” for the residential program on a 24-hour basis). A RN or the LPN accompanies the individual to all medical appointments.

Our Story

Residential Concepts, Inc.. (RCI), is a family owned and operated, for-profit agency, located in Clermont County, Ohio, that provides supports and services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In the late 1960s, the family’s grandparents, Dairus and Estelle Sprague, began providing services to children with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their personal home. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Estelle took special interest in growing the family business and operated several residential licensed homes under “Sprague Homes.” In 1988, Dairus and Estelle’s grandson, Jim Sprague, became involved and incorporated the business under “Residential Concepts, Inc.” At that time, the agency began operating two licensed homes and served thirteen people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, all whom attended a county board workshop. Frustrated by the lack of opportunities and programs available for people with developmental disabilities, RCI sensed it was time to make changes. In the fall of 2003, with the support of parents/guardians, RCI opened the first privatized adult day support program in Clermont County, Cane Run Farm (CRF), fittingly on the property once owned by Jim’s late grandparents. Over the next several years, the traditional activity based centers began closing, and more opportunities for community integration, decision making, leisure activities, and community employment, became available to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Since 2003, in addition to the two licensed residential homes, RCI has opened four waiver residential homes. Moreover, the adult day support program is now called Cane Run Connections (CRC), signifying our commitment to help persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities make connections with community members. Furthermore, with a large fleet of modified and non-modified vans, RCI provides non-medical transportation to and from CRC as well as into the community.
