Friday marked the end of an era as Wayne and I officially ended our ownership of Summit Therapy Center. What a wild ride it has been. I could not be more proud of what we accomplished in our time together. We took a small country hospital clinic with no resources and no equipment and turned it into one of the most respected, state of the art therapy clinics in western New York. I could not have asked for a better business partner. Wayne was my mentor, my guiding influence early in my career, and my biggest backer who gave me the confidence that we could succeed in this venture. Early on we were smart enough to know what a quality therapy clinic should be run like, and dumb enough to think we could actually pull it off. I will forever be indebted to you my friend. ❤️

Thank you to each and every summit staff member who allowed the next person to stand on their shoulders helping them to reach higher and higher in achieving personal and professional goals. I am proud of the fact that each person never lost sight of the fact that good enough was never good enough. ❤️

I would like to say thank you to the community that supported us so well. Thank you for trusting me with your children, your parents, your families, and your friends. Thank you for the times you recommended me to others and for all of your kind words over the years. I was humbled, honored, and lucky enough to live, work, and serve in a community with the most honest, giving, caring, hard working people you will find anywhere. This is a special place that I never took for granted. ❤️

Good luck to those entrusted to take the clinic to the next level and carry on going forward. The community has been left in excellent hands. Spirit week here at UMMC and Summit celebrating Nurse Appreciation and Health Systems week. Monday was crazy socks day ( we won best group photo!) and today was Hawaiian shirt day (with crazy glasses!). Our group is always in the mood for some light hearted fun, and even Josh Allen and Moana wanted to be part of the festivities! A good time was had by all!!! 🎉

Congratulations to the Pembroke mens basketball team on winning their first sectional title in school history 62-59. Hitting 2 crucial free throws to ice the game with 4 seconds left junior Tyson Totten was named tournament MVP. After winning an exciting nail biter, Pembroke now moves on to the far west regionals later this week. Good luck Dragons in your pursuit of the state title!!! 🏀🏀🏀

So as I was waiting to pick up take out for the clinic, someone from the fire department came in to pick up take out also. As he went to pay, the girl helping him said there was no charge as Tully’s took care of it. Especially in light of the tragedy that happened in Buffalo this week it’s pretty cool to know you live in a town with businesses who are socially conscious. Kudos and thank you to Tully’s staff and management. As the only person who witnessed the interaction your kindness was recognized and noticed! ❤️

It was a memorable night for the Pembroke mens basketball team as Summit’s own Tyson Totten eclipsed 1000 points for his high school basketball career during their opening round sectional win. Also in the same game his teammate Cayden became Pembroke’s all time career scoring leader. An outstanding athlete, Tyson was earlier named New York State player of the year as part of Pembroke’s state title winning football team. Congratulations Tyson and good luck to Pembroke’s mens basketball as they continue their march towards another sectional title! 🏀

This never gets old. Love how peaceful and quiet it is at the end of a hectic and busy day in the clinic. Love how hard our staff works at making therapy as enjoyable and fun as it can be for those who choose us for their care. Love how hard our clients work both physically, as well as mentally, rehabilitating various injuries and surgical repairs. Humbled and proud to be part of this amazing group of people. As Marv was famous for saying….”Where else would you rather be than right here, right now?” ❤️

As the page turns from twenty two to twenty three gratitude is first and foremost on my mind. I am grateful for UMMC believing in us so many years ago and taking a chance on Summit. I am grateful for all the people who have been integral through the years in helping us transform and grow the clinic into what we are today. I am grateful for having a staff, who are the absolute best at what they do, and who believes that good enough is never good enough. I am grateful to practice in a community with such kind and giving people. Finally, I am grateful to "work" in a clinic that I unconditionally love and remain passionate about. Spent this beautiful Saturday morning with Oakfield-Alabama’s women’s JV and varsity basketball teams instructing them in the Sportsmetrics injury reduction program. It is a training program designed to teach athletes how to position and move properly while competing, which in turn leads to a significant reduction in risk of serious knee injuries including ACL ruptures which are so prevalent in high school female athletes. It is training we have had tremendous success with over the years in various schools throughout the region, and we offer the training free of charge. I applaud the Oakfield coaches for being proactive in trying to help and protect their athletes. If your school is not doing the same for their players you need to ask your athletic directors and coaches why not! Wishing the Hornets the best of luck this season! 🏀🏀

Summit was once again a proud sponsor of the North Pole Charity golf tournament at Stafford Country Club. Dr. Loffredo and his wife Annie do such a good job running and organizing the tournament which benefits Rochester Regional Health’s UMMC hospital here in Batavia. We had a great time playing and appreciated being a part of such a good cause. Just another way Summit gives back to the community that supports us so well.

Summit again this year competed in the GLOW Corporate Cup 5K walk/run. As we do every year our staff turns out in large numbers to support this event. It is a fun night which we all look forward to. A huge shout out to our front office staff who makes sure we are entered, organized, and fed! Thanks to all of our staff, interns, family, and four legged friends who particpated and put their best foot forward. Just another way Summit gives back to the community that supports us so well!
