The day after Christmas 🎄

Spent my mornings yesterday and today at the barn. Feeling thankful for the warmer weather and no ice on the ground… though I could definitely do without all the mud 😅

Taking a few quiet minutes with this lovely mare before heading home for the day.

The holidays can be busy and stressful, pulling us in a hundred different directions. Moments like this are a good reminder to step back, slow down, and simply sit in the present with those around us—human or animal—and reconnect 🤍 May today be a restful day filled with connection and peace.

’Twas the night before Christmas, the house snug and still,
When Tala the Husky lay quiet on the hill
Of blankets and pillows by a warm glowing fire,
Her brown eyes half-closed, yet full of desire.

Her brother Thor snoozed with a paw on his nose,
Dreaming of snowdrifts and sleds as they froze.
Their tails gave a thump at the jingle of sound—
Was that a sleigh landing softly on ground?

Up sprang the two pups, fur fluffed with delight,
They skidded down hallways in joyful moonlight.
With noses held high and a curious stare,
They sniffed hints of treat-sweetened Christmas air.

Soon morning would come with adventures anew,
But for now Christmas magic was shared by the two.
So dream on, dear Tala, and Thor big and white
Happy Christmas to all, and to all a Good Night 🐾🎄

❄️ Winter is here! ❄️

The cold weather and snowy sidewalks might look magical, but they can be really tough on our dogs’ paws. Between icy surfaces, sidewalk salt, and dry winter air, pups can end up with cracked pads that can bleed and become super painful. Just like us, dogs can get dry, irritated skin this time of year — itchy skin, flaky noses, and rough paws included.

One simple thing that helps both humans and pets? Indoor humidity!
Running a humidifier can make a world of difference by keeping moisture in the air, helping prevent cracked noses, chapped lips, itchy skin, and rough paws.

I’ve been loving the doTERRA Dawn Aroma Essential Oil Humidifier — it’s gentle, effective, and can be used safely as long as pet-friendly practices are followed (diffuse lightly, in open spaces, and give pets the choice to leave the room). 🌿💧
