As part of our Hospice Care Q&A series, weโ€™re answering some of the most common questions we hear from our community.

Hospice care can be provided wherever a patient calls home. For many, that means receiving care at home, surrounded by loved ones and familiar surroundings. Hospice services can also be provided in nursing homes, assisted living facilities or at MMH through our hospice-in-place program.

The goal is to meet patients where they are and provide comfort, dignity and support in the environment that feels right for them.

MMH is deeply grateful to The Luke Oโ€™Mara Foundation for their generous donation of two Caring Cradles to our OB unit in Lukeโ€™s loving memory.

A Caring Cradle is a cooling system that helps preserve stillborn babies while families grieve, giving parents precious time to hold, love and say goodbye to their baby without feeling rushed.

The Luke Oโ€™Mara Foundation was created in honor of Luke and is dedicated to supporting families experiencing pregnancy and infant loss through compassionate resources and care.

We are incredibly thankful to the Luke Oโ€™Mara Foundation for this meaningful gift and for helping us continue to provide compassionate care to families during difficult times.

It may not feel that hot out yet, but you can still get sunburned even on mild spring and early summer days. Protecting your skin from the sun is important at every age, and a few simple habits can make a big difference.

โ€ข Wear sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher
โ€ข Reapply sunscreen every 2 hours, especially after swimming or sweating
โ€ข Wear sunglasses, a hat and lightweight protective clothing
โ€ข Seek shade during peak sun hours (10 a.m. โ€“ 4 p.m.)
โ€ข Stay hydrated when spending time outside

Enjoy the sunshine safely this season!

Last week, Brazee Glass Design, a renowned Cincinnati-based art studio, installed a unique glass art feature in the community hub of our new hospital.

This exciting collaboration between MMH and the Batesville Area Arts Council brought together local students in grades 6โ€“12 to showcase their creativity through the design of individual handmade glass tiles.

Each piece was assembled into a mural that celebrates community, collaboration and creativity. We canโ€™t wait to share the finished installation with you when we open our doors in August!
