At the heart of our new hospital is our Medical-Surgical unit. Located on the second floor, this expanded area provides 24/7 care for patients recovering from illness, injury or surgery. Every room in the new space is private and will feature new hospital beds, bedside vital-sign monitoring and upgraded technology to support high-quality care.

As with the rest of the hospital, every inpatient room was thoughtfully designed with safety as a top priority. The unit is fully secured, and two nurses’ stations allow for closer observation of patients — especially those at high risk for falls — helping keep both patients and staff safe.

At MMH, we’re excited to offer a modern, comfortable space designed with our patients in mind.

We’re excited to celebrate the first baby born at MMH in 2026! James Montgomery arrived at 6:40 p.m. on January 1 to proud parents Stephanie and Matthew Furnish of Versailles. He weighed 6 lbs., 12 oz. and measured 19 inches long.

After going into labor three weeks early, Stephanie delivered James by C-section with the assistance of Dr. Kelley Fitzpatrick. James will soon be heading home to a house full of love, where big brothers Xavier, Eli and Luke are ready to welcome him.

Congratulations to the Furnish family and thank you for letting MMH be part of James’ story!

At MMH, we’re committed to providing local, high-quality maternity care for our community — which is why we put so much thought into designing the OB unit in our new hospital.

In addition to being 7% larger and more efficient than our existing space, every room will include new beds and bedside vital-sign monitoring equipment, along with other upgraded technology to support safe care.

For moms delivering by C-section, the maternity unit will still have its own dedicated C-section suite, equipped to respond quickly in an emergency, as well as a dedicated viewing room for family members, if the mother chooses.

With two nurses’ stations located near patient rooms, our caregivers will be nearby and ready to help, supporting quicker response times. We can’t wait to welcome families into this new space!
