We all know that only yes means yes when it comes to consent -- but what does consent mean in reality? We are going to break it down.

We can think about FRIES when we think of consent. This helpful acronym explains all of the aspects of consent:

Freely Given: Consent should be given without pressure, force, or under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Reversible: You can change your mind about what you want to do at any time -- even if you are in the middle or have done it before.

Informed: You should know exactly what you are giving consent to.

Enthusiastic: Someone should be excited to give consent. If someone is not sure, it is always better to wait. Pay attention to body language as well as what the person is saying and how they are saying it.

Specific: Saying yes to one thing does not mean you have said yes to other things. Consent should be given at every step.

Please like and share! We would love for our community to be educated on consent and exactly WHAT that means.

Someone is sexually assaulted in the U.S every 68 seconds. Every 9 minutes (or less), that victim is a child. Only 3% of rapists will ever serve a day in prison. To put this into prospective...Out of 1,000 offenders, 997 will walk free.

If you or someone you know needs help, please call our 24/7 hotline at (870) 698-0006.

We believe you.

Last week, we had the opportunity to attend the city county connections meeting at The River Waterfront Steak and Grill, where we met an inspiring woman who presented on Human Trafficking. Mrs. Arkansas Brandy Huff Tarini's message was powerful and her dedication to raising awareness about this critical issue is truly admirable.
We are thankful to have met her and are proud to have her as an ally!
