We are hearing that the vote will happen next week. Our opposition is spreading a lot of misinformation right now up a the state house. We need your help! Thank you so much if you have already written a letter. The sponsors of our bill are now asking patients to call their representatives. We understand this is a big ask but the vote is close.

There are some legislators who have not yet heard from patients. We need to reach EVERY senator and representative before they vote on these rules. You could be the only patient in a district so your voice matters!

Maine is considering granting NDs broader prescribing rights and allowing them to prescribe IV therapy. The Maine Association of Naturopathic Doctors has been hard at work moving these changes forward so we can offer you the same level of naturopathic care that people in VT and NH can access right now. We are so grateful for all our patients who have made their voices heard. Your voice was critical in getting us to this point.

We are asking for your support for this next step. The Maine Board of Complementary Health Care Providers is holding a public hearing to hear public reaction to these proposed rules. The Maine Medical Society is expected to oppose these changes. Without strong public support, these new rules could be scaled back or rejected entirely. That's why the board needs to hear from YOU—the patients who benefit from naturopathic care.

Hope everyone is enjoying winter so far. We got out with the dogs yesterday for a wonderful snowshoeing adventure in the woods near our house.

New year and time for a good reset!
I always find this a good time of year to do a short cleanse. I like to have a reset after the holiday season and find it nice way to welcome in a new year of health.
I started a 10 day gentle cleanse yesterday. I try to make my resets easy to follow and not too restrictive for a time of year when I just want to curl up and hibernate.
This year I'm starting my day with a smoothie using Xymogen's OptiCleanse GHI powder. The only flavor I had was Chai which is great if you like your smoothie with a hint of spice. This powder is great if you are like me and usually feeling hungry not long after having a smoothie ~ I felt full til lunch.
My other guidelines for my reset are basic:
~ avoiding dairy, sugar and alcohol.
~ minimizing caffeine.
~ minimizing grains.
~ front loading veggies ~ I use a greens powder in my smoothie and aim for at least 5 cups of veggies a day during lunch and dinner.
~ having at least 1/2 my body weight in ounces of water or herbal tea.
My normal supplement regimen has some antioxidant and detox support already so I just boosted it up with a little extra:
~ NAC - which not only is a fantastic antioxidant it's also great for lung support as I'm getting over that viral cough that's going around
~ Researched Nutritionals Trifortify Liposomal Glutathione
~ Xymogen Hormone Protect
From a mind, body, spirit prospective, I also like to make sure I address more of the mind and spirit aspects in my cleanse using tools like journaling and meditation. These help reset my thought patterns and clear out the gunk that can creep in this time of year. And as I always tell patients you just need 5-10min a day, so you can fit it in!
