Today is a pretty special day. It’s the very first National Direct Primary Care Day… and it just so happens to be the 5-year anniversary of Barry Pediatrics. ✨

What a coincidence, right?
DPC has given me the chance to care for kids the way I’ve always believed in — with time, trust, and true relationships. And every single family who has joined this little practice has made that dream real.

Five years ago, Barry Pediatrics was just a hopeful idea. Today, it’s a growing community that I feel so lucky to be part of.

Thank you for following along on this journey. Thank you for believing in this kind of care. And thank you for letting me be part of your children’s stories! There’s so much to celebrate today — and we’re just getting started.

We’re holding a Food Drive to support families in our community who are facing new challenges. With upcoming changes to SNAP benefits, many households will soon lose a key source of help putting food on the table. Millions of families rely on this support to feed their children and the ripple effects will be felt quickly.

No child should be hungry. Together, we can help fill the gap.

How it works
• Where: Barry Pediatrics office in Bath
• What to bring: Unopened, unexpired, non-perishable food or household items
• Please avoid: Glass jars, opened packages, or expired items
• If you prefer to give a grocery gift card, we’ll make sure it goes straight to families to help cover fresh foods.

I am more fulfilled professionally since opening my own DPC practice than I ever was as an employed physician. It took a lot of heartache to recognize that I deserve better and more out of the career I worked so long and hard for than what corporate medicine could offer me.

And, most importantly, my patients deserved better too. Proud to offer my families accessible, personalized, and relationship-based care.

Every first Friday of the month, I host a Walk & Talk for Barry Pediatrics families — a chance to get outside, move our bodies, and connect with one another on a beautiful local storybook trail. These walks have become one of my favorite traditions. They’re a relaxed, fun way for me to get to know my patients and their families beyond the walls of the office — no exam table or stethoscope required (well, usually!).

Of course, as a direct primary care pediatrician, I’m always prepared. Since I offer home visit service, I always keep my medical bag in the car… this event turned into a quick visit on-the-go when one of my kiddos needed a check.

The beauty of DPC pediatrics and the heart of what I do! 🤍 DPC makes caring for your child simpler and more supportive — because your child’s health shouldn’t have to wait for the next available time slot at a busy clinic. Convenient, accessible, personalized care when and where you need it most, meeting families where they are (sometimes literally!).
