Big update for our pediatric DPC community.

When we first started the Pediatric DPC Mastermind, the dream was simple: bring pediatric DPC doctors together to learn, grow, and build something better for kids and families. Planning those first three conferences was truly one of the greatest honors of my career. Watching this movement grow has been incredible.

Now it’s time for the next chapter.

The DPC Alliance has officially taken the lead in carrying this work forward, and with that comes a new name: Pediatric DPC Conference. Same heart. Same mission. Bigger reach and even more support for pediatricians doing this meaningful work. As the Conference Chair, I will remain personally involved and invested during this transitional year, as I pass the torch on to the Direct Primary Care Alliance.

You’ll start to see the updated name and branding across socials and conference materials. Just know — this is a beautiful evolution of what we began together.

So grateful for every physician who has shown up, shared, learned, and helped build this community. I cannot wait to see where this next phase takes pediatric DPC.

Just read this and felt a deep sense of gratitude.

The cost of healthcare keeps rising, and families and physicians are feeling the weight of a system that often feels rushed, expensive, and disconnected. Every year it becomes clearer that the traditional model isn’t serving patients — or doctors — the way it should.

Finding Direct Primary Care has truly been a gift. It has allowed me to slow down, build real relationships with families, and practice medicine the way I always hoped I could — thoughtful, accessible, and centered on prevention and trust.

There is another way to do healthcare.
I’m so thankful to be part of a model that puts people first.

Bundled up, bell ringing, and full hearts.

Yesterday we spent the day at a local grocery store ringing the Salvation Army bell to represent Barry Pediatrics — and it was cold, windy, and snowy. But let’s be honest, none of that was going to stop us.

Showing up for our community doesn’t pause for weather. Caring for kids and families doesn’t take a day off. And doing good together is always worth a few frozen fingers.

It’s choreography—
the practiced balance
of a mother carrying
timelines, tempers, to-do lists,
and tiny beating hearts
all at once.

Call it multitasking,
call it sacrifice,
call it love—
but know this:
she is a warrior.
Not of battlefields,
but of the everyday—
doctor appointments,
midnight wake-ups,
and the dreams she refuses to set aside.

Her hands are full,
her days are full,
but so is her purpose.
And every time she finds her balance
in the swirl of it all,
she rises stronger than before.

For anyone who has been lucky enough to know my mom, this will not come as a surprise.

Every morning before us kids would go off to school for the day, this was the last thing she would say to us after her goodbyes and I love yous. It is also the way I send my kids off in the mornings now.

“Do something nice for someone today”… Kindness costs nothing but means everything. Spread it far and wide!

Today is a pretty special day. It’s the very first National Direct Primary Care Day… and it just so happens to be the 5-year anniversary of Barry Pediatrics. ✨

What a coincidence, right?
DPC has given me the chance to care for kids the way I’ve always believed in — with time, trust, and true relationships. And every single family who has joined this little practice has made that dream real.

Five years ago, Barry Pediatrics was just a hopeful idea. Today, it’s a growing community that I feel so lucky to be part of.

Thank you for following along on this journey. Thank you for believing in this kind of care. And thank you for letting me be part of your children’s stories! There’s so much to celebrate today — and we’re just getting started.
