It was a great day outdoors for our Veterans and families at the Bath Community Living Center's Summer Sizzler.

Aside from a rocking band and great food for all who were there, events like these give VA employees from other services a chance to work together outside their daily routines and build stronger relationships with the Veterans

We were honored to welcome John Lawless, NYS Elks Association 2025-2026 President, at the Canandaigua VAMC on Friday!

Mr. Lawless and the visiting Elks Representatives from the West Central District received an insightful tour of our facilities, including our beloved bowling alley. 🎳

The VA Center for Development & Civic Engagement shared how vital volunteerism and donations are to our Veterans.

🎉🛩️ Honoring 100 Years of Inspiration– Happy Birthday, Ed Watling!

Yesterday, we celebrated a truly remarkable milestone at our Community Living Center — Ed Watling turned 100 years old!

Mr. Watling proudly served as a pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corps, flying a B-32 bomber during his time in service. After his military career, he raised his family in Geneva, New York, and later retired from the Seneca Army Depot.

Known for his positive outlook on life, Mr. Watling inspires everyone around him to live each day to the fullest.

As part of this special celebration, he was presented with the VA Secretary’s 100-Year Award, including a personal letter from Secretary Doug Collins and a commemorative challenge coin honoring his service and longevity.

It was a day filled with smiles, stories, and gratitude for a life well-lived. Please join us in wishing Mr. Watling a very Happy 100th Birthday and thanking him for his service and inspiration. 💙

VA Finger Lakes Health Care System observed Overdose Awareness Day across its Bath, Canandaigua, and Rochester-Calkins Clinic locations.

The event focused on increasing awareness of overdose prevention while connecting Veterans, families, and community members with education and supportive resources. Throughout the day, staff provided information on recognizing the signs of overdose, responding effectively, and accessing treatment and recovery support services. In addition, 110 Narcan kits were distributed, equipping attendees with a life-saving tool that can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose.

These efforts reflect VA Finger Lakes’ commitment to harm reduction, whole health, and ensuring Veterans and their loved ones have the resources they need to stay safe and supported.
