Join our team and play a key role in keeping operations running smoothly across our medical center!

💧 Position: Boiler Plant Operator
📍 Location: Canandaigua, NY
💵 Pay: $27.41 – $31.96 per hour
🕒 Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (subject to change based on coverage)
💰 Recruitment/Relocation Incentive: May be available for highly qualified applicants!

What You’ll Do:
• Operate and maintain high-pressure steam boilers and auxiliary systems
• Monitor, inspect, and repair boiler and water systems
• Make critical decisions on fuel efficiency, safety, and system operation
• Perform preventive maintenance and emergency troubleshooting
• Support maintenance and repair operations across the medical center

Call it a head start for Halloween.

Kids of all ages turned out recently for the first "Trunk or Treat" celebration held by Compeers Corps, Ontario Cares, and the VA Employees Association.

Joined by residents of VA's Community Living Center, children and their families feasted outdoors on hot dogs, collected candy, enjoyed some magic tricks, and took home balloon animals.

Thank you to everyone who set up a trunk, and a special thanks to Ontario Cares and Compeer Corps for putting this together!

Meet Max Wright, a new Community Partner of VA Finger Lakes.

Wright, Retiree of Livonia Central School District, currently plays with the Honeoye Community Band, the Finger Lakes Community Band, as well as Mike Lucey Acoustic, volunteered playing the saxophone and keyboard for both Bath and Canandaigua Community Living Center residents.

Veterans at Canandaigua's Community Living Center raised a mug of (non-alcoholic) beer recently for a celebration of Oktoberfest. Colorful decorations added to the feel of the traditional German celebration along with plenty of pretzels, cheese and German chocolate cake.

💙 What an amazing kickoff for our first Finger Lakes Veteran Connection Café!

A huge thank-you to Veteran Kevin Judson for handcrafting and donating two beautiful chess boards — they were a big hit and will be enjoyed for many gatherings to come! ♟️

We’re also so grateful to our our Care Coordination & Integrated Case Management Team for creating and hosting the Cafe and to Salvatore’s Saloon in Henrietta for generously donating the delicious breakfast pizza that fueled our morning. 🍕

Today showed just how powerful connection can be. Thank you to everyone who came out — we can’t wait to see you at the next Café!

Fire safety was the hot issue last week as the VA Finger Lakes Fire Departments held their Fire Prevention and Safety Week.

In Canandaigua, a team of skilled fire safety professionals provided a day full of safety education and fire prevention demonstrations, along with numerous hands-on activities and lots of fun for all members of the family.

Throughout the week, both Bath and Canandaigua held fire safety demonstrations and educational opportunities.

Thank you to both the Bath and Canandaigua Fire Departments, who do so much for our Veterans, employees, families, and community members.

Canandaigua amd Bath CLC Veterans recently enjoyed a Fun-Filled Fall Day at Duvall Farms, feeding farm animals, going on an accessible hayride, and seeing the autumn décor.
