We are a proud Autism family.
Our son, Camren, was diagnosed with Autism two months before his 3rd birthday in 2011. We were stationed in Belgium with the US Air Force at the time. The military relocated us to Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma City, OK, to get Camren the services he needed. That was where we experienced ABA for the first time. We saw an increase in his receptive language comprehension very quickly.
The more we learned about Autism we saw that our oldest son, Christian, also had signs, like limited interest and Hyperlexia. Christian was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome in February of 2012, just before he turned 5.
And we can’t forget our youngest, Alyssa. As our third and only neuro-typical child, I have to admit, there has been a learning curve for this mom! She has always been a helper and “second mommy”, especially when it came to Camren.
All of our children are very different. As a family and as individuals, we are “a lot”. But we wouldn’t have it any other way.
We are passionate about Autism awareness, acceptance, support and inclusion! 🧩
