Every year in February, we celebrate Black History Month to honor and recognize the many contributions of Black people to American life.💛❤️💚🖤
➡️This year, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Office of Minority Health has focused on the theme, Advancing Commitments to Eliminate Health Disparities. The purpose of the RURAL Heart and Lung Study is to understand the roots of health disparities and address the statistical gaps in our communities.
‼️As the month ends, we want to remind you that our study continues to address gaps like these in our communities.

From the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI): “Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the U.S. but impacts some communities disproportionately. Join efforts around the country to promote heart health in your community.”
❤️
NHLBI is the funder of RURAL where researchers are trying to answer the questions about those disproportionate impacts. Our Louisiana team is working hard on bringing the findings of the study back to our communities and we see YOU and your efforts and we ❤️ your RED!
