Fi****ms are used in half of all su***de deaths.
Every day, 64 Americans die by firearm su***de. That’s one every 22 minutes. 💔

I am grateful for the invitation from LSU Health Sciences Center to attend Guns & Mental Health, hosted by The Armory Project, Walk the Talk America, Louisiana Range Gun Club, and The Rustic Renegade. 💛

I had the opportunity to shoot different types of fi****ms and learn appropriate gun safety, which gave me a deeper understanding of both gun culture and the importance of responsible ownership.

The shooting range is actually therapeutic for many, involving a state of calm, focus, and the intentional use of deep breathing.

🙇🏽‍♀️If you or someone you love is at risk, consider:
• Voluntary storage at a gun retailer
• Transferring to a trusted person
• Using lockboxes, safes, or biometric gun storage
• Talk therapy

Another year of grace. 🥳🧁💕💕

The older I get, the more I enjoy stillness...quiet mornings, meaningful conversations, peace over pressure, and grace over grind. 😮‍💨

This new chapter feels like soft winds, sun on my skin, and God’s gentle reminder that I’m right where I need to be.

I’m embracing simplicity, alignment, and everything God has for me in this season. 🤓

Happiest of birthdays to me! 🍭🍭🤸🏽‍♂️

This week I had the pleasure of being interviewed by a graduate psychology student at Southern University. 🎓💛🩵

Grateful to Dr. Thorton for the invitation and for creating space for meaningful connections between professionals and students.

I enjoyed sharing my journey as a therapist, entrepreneur, and my experiences with teletherapy.

The student did phenomenal! I know she’s going to make an incredible impact on the community. 🫶🏽

Took a midday break to attend the Rotary Club of Baton Rouge luncheon at LSU. 💛💜

Coach Brian Kelly delivered an inspiring message that went far beyond football. I especially appreciated his focus on mental health performance, creating the right culture, cultivating leadership, and redefining success.

One of the most powerful takeaways: “Mental health is a training room.” 💭

After serving as a panelist at the LOPA’s Health is Wealth: Beyond the Stigma event at Delmont Gardens Library, I ran into something special on my way out… the June issue of Baton Rouge Parents Magazine, featuring my article on page 5! 🩵

Starting college is a big transition. Exciting? Yes. Overwhelming? Also, yes.

That’s why I’m honored to offer tips for both parents and seniors navigating this new chapter, emotionally and mentally.

If you know a student or parent walking this path, please share!

Earlier this week, I had the privilege of serving as a panelist at Health is Wealth: Beyond the Stigma, hosted by the Louisiana Organ Procurement Organization (LOPA)🧠🫀

We gathered to break stigma and spark real conversation around men’s physical and mental health, prevention, and organ donation.

I was grateful to sit alongside Dr. Tolulope Famuyiro, who brought clinical insight as a physician, Nakesha Guillory and another courageous community advocate who shared powerful lived experiences related to organ health and donation.

Thank you to Kristie Fisher, LOPA Community Educator for the invitation and continued commitment to awareness and healing in our communities! 🩵

Self-Care Comes in Many Forms (Even Teeth Whitening! 😄).

Me and my husband took a day off to enjoy lunch and a couples teeth whitening session at Ash & Oak. 💆🏽‍♀️🩵 It was simple, fun, and refreshing.

As a therapist, I often tell couples:
Schedule time just to enjoy each other.
It nourishes the relationship and your emotional wellness.

Here are a few more ways to connect:
✔ Grill or boil something together
✔ Book a couples massage
✔ Discover a new restaurant
✔ Visit a place with special memories
✔ Binge a favorite show
✔ Coffee + real conversation
✔ Take a day off just to reconnect

🧠 Self-care isn’t always solo.
🩵 Caring for your relationship is caring for yourself.

Happy Mother’s Day! 🌸

Celebrating the emotional grace and mental strength of motherhood.

Whether you're a mother by birth, by heart, or by calling. Your love is powerful, your sacrifices meaningful, and your presence unforgettable. 💐

On a personal note, I celebrate my own mother. A woman of deep faith, quiet strength, and unwavering support. Her love has shaped my life and continues to inspire how I show up for others.

To all the mothers, mother figures, and caregivers: May today be a reminder that you are seen, valued, and deserving of rest, joy, and peace.🩵😉
