Elizabeth was born and raised in Ascension Parish in Prarieville, Louisiana. She earned her undergraduate degree at Southeastern Louisiana University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and graduated from LSU with a master’s degree in social work. She is mom to an active and charming 8-year-old daughter.
Prior to joining our team, since 2013, Elizabeth worked in the mental and behavioral health field ranging from children in need of care, pre-trial incarcerated individuals, and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Although she is new to hospice care, she has already displayed the knowledge and compassion needed to be of assistance to our fragile patients. She brings a fresh perspective and sense of joy to meeting the patients. We are confident she will be a dedicated worker, team player, and devoted to being of service to those in need.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

We would like 🫵 to join our team!

Heart of Hospice is always looking for compassionate volunteers.
What is a Hospice Volunteer?
-Hospice volunteers are exceptional people. They donate their time and efforts to provide care and comfort for someone with a life limiting illness - a labor of love that requires a special person with just the right touch. They have a passion for helping others and make a profound difference in the lives of the patients, families, and communities we are privileged to serve.

What roles do volunteers play?

Administration
-Provides clerical/office support for direct patient care that includes but is not limited to creating patient and family teaching materials, mailings, filings, organizing, etc.

Patient Care
-Provides in person activities and companionship such as reading, listening, life review, watching shows, playing board games, yard work, errand running, animal care, etc.

Bereavement
-Provides in person, phone, or office support for the bereavement program and interacts with the family in a caring and compassionate manner. Assists with arrangements after death, agency memorial services or activities, and community education on end-of-life issues.

General Support
-Provides program support through arts and crafts for patients or bereaved, community speaker events, education, public relations, and volunteer recruitment.

For any additional information regarding our volunteer program, please contact our Volunteer Manager, Kai at 225-241-9465
