💥 Advocacy in ACTION! 💥

Physical Therapists gathered in Washington, D.C. to walk the halls of Congress and advocate for meaningful change. Representatives from Louisiana met directly with legislators and their staff, connected with passionate colleagues from across the country, and continued pushing forward the policies that support both our profession and the patients we serve.

This is what advocacy looks like. This is how change happens.

⭐Get to know your Houma District Chair, Rutgerus F. Jongbloets PT, COMT, CSCS! ⭐

Rutgerus Jongbloets aka Rut, is originally from the Netherlands, and graduated in 1992 from The Hague College for Physical Therapy in The Hague, Netherlands. He completed a clinical rotation at Touro Infirmary during the Fall of 1991 and where he met his wife.

After graduating Rut decided to take on the adventure of emigrating, marrying, and building a future in Southeast Louisiana. Rut and his wife have 2 “children”, now 28 and 24 years old, and always “a dog”.

Rut founded Physiofit Physical Therapy in 2002 driven by a passion to deliver the best care possible in a welcoming and supportive setting, and partnered with a likeminded Upstream Rehabilitation in 2012 to bundle forces in tackling the challenges our profession faces daily and provide true career opportunities for the people he is fortunate enough to work with.

Rut and his team now operate 17 locations in Southeast Louisiana with an emphasis on Outcomes for patients and team support and opportunities for their crew.

Rut is still very passionate about our profession. He has taken on an ever growing role in advocacy and education. As part of that evolution in his career, he thought it would be the right thing to do to officially join our organization in a position where each individual CAN make a difference.

Fun fact is that he DOES NOT sit still. Rut loves to work hard and play hard. He has many hobbies, but the main ones are cross training, personal watersports, sailing and riding motorcycles. He did a 9000 miles 21 day trip to tip of Alaska and back several years ago. 1500 miles were off road and 19 nights spent in a tent. 5 National Parks on the way.

Rut is looking forward to serving our profession and this organization for some time to come.
