🌟 Meet APTA Louisiana 2026 Spring One Day Seminar Speaker - Maureen Herring, M.Ed, LOTR 🌟

Presenting: Breath Magic: A Look At Some Old Practices And New Science

Maureen Herring is an OT and Rehab Educator at Touro Rehab Center. Clinically her experience has focused on adult rehabilitation from stroke and brain injury, collaborating daily with PT’s, ST’s and other professionals to help patients improve. As Rehab Educator at Touro, she manages clinical education and the therapy intern program for all Allied Health disciplines. In 2018, Maureen earned a 200 hour yoga teacher training in New Orleans, advancing to 300 hour certification in 2020. Since earning these certifications, she has used yoga as a therapeutic intervention with adult patients at Touro, including leading a yoga group for cancer survivors. In 2020 and 2021, she began using breath training techniques with patients in rehabilitation due to the effects of Covid 19. Seeing the positive results of this work with patients encouraged her to share this information more widely with healthcare professionals. For some reason, in 2024 she decided to go back to school once again to learn additional ways to help people recovering from illness or trauma. She anticipates adding “Licensed Massage Therapist” to her resume in 2026.
