Wellness Unplugged, the series, was created as a space to step away from external noise and reconnect with your own inner wisdom and needs.

In a world that constantly tells us who to be, what to feel, and how to show up, this series is about slowing down, tuning in, and creating space for more honest, grounded conversations around wellness.

Seen & Supported, this specific gathering, came from a deeper conversation around community — people feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, and unsure where to go to feel supported in a real way.

As I’ve continued to grow in my work, especially through a body-neutral approach to wellness, I’ve also been learning how to show up more intentionally as an ally — and how to create spaces that feel more inclusive and accessible.

This idea had been on my heart for a few months. And coincidentally enough, someone reached out asking if I had ever considered creating something specifically for the LGBTQ+ community.

That was the confirmation to move forward.

This event is about creating a space where you can come as you are — to reflect, to connect, learn something new, or simply to feel a little less alone.

If this feels like something you’ve been needing, I’d love to have you in the room. 💜

She thought it was her hormones.

And to be fair – her cycle was off. It was longer than usual, and she was randomly dealing with things like headaches and night sweats.

But when I actually looked at her data + check-in patterns…that wasn’t the full picture.

I saw:
• digestion issues (bloating, reflux, feeling off after eating)
• blood sugar crashes after eating (especially in the afternoon)
• and a nervous system under constant stress

And this is an important part most people miss:

Stress alone can delay ovulation, creating longer cycles.

So what looks like a “hormone problem”…is often your body responding to everything else going on underneath. (Thes stress and hormones connection.)

Which is why we didn’t jump to:
✖️ cutting more foods
✖️ “balancing hormones” with random supplements
✖️ chasing symptoms

Instead, we focused on:
→ supporting digestion
→ stabilizing meals so her energy stops crashing
→ helping her body come out of stress mode

Because when those things improve…your hormones usually do too.

If you feel like your body is “off” but nothing you’re trying is actually working, there’s usually a deeper pattern.

DM me “SUPPORT” and I’ll help you figure out what your body is actually asking for.

When you don’t know what to expect, it’s just difficult to make the decision! 😳

(My husband was also watching me with a strained fade from the doorway. 😂)

It actually didn’t hurt at all - the noise startled me more than anything else.

But why am I doing this? Let’s talk about it…

The past two years I’ve been on a journey of nourishment and anti-dieting. This meant actively NOT DIETING…

I constantly reiterated these things to myself:

- eat regular meals
- don’t restrict
- nothing is off limits
- stop checking the scale
- recognize self-criticism as opinions, not facts
- have as much as you want
- enjoy whatever feels good
- rest often

But also:

- eat a variety of foods
- hydrate well
- move for strength and mobility
- exercise in a way that is energizing, not punishing
- pay attention to signs and symptoms
- appreciate what the body does
- learn to be present
- recover

Two years of supporting my body in a way I never have before — without using the scale as a measure of health.

Now I’m ready to dig a little deeper. Understand something else, with a new comfort of knowing I don’t have to *obsess* over it. I just have the convenience of seeing it.

Why CGM?

1. I actually got this sensor for free. (So why not? 💁🏻‍♀️)
2. Diabetes runs in my family.
3. I have been more prone to insulin resistance in my lifetime.
4. I’m on a fertility journey and having this baseline makes sense for where I currently am in that space.

There are so many options when it comes to functional tests, labs, and tracking. If you want help chatting through what might be right for you, I’m always happy to jump on a call and point you in the right direction (even if it’s not me.)

But more importantly - don’t get caught up in the data. Having info is great, but too much can be overwhelming and negate what you’re ultimately trying to do. Always go back to the foundations, reconnect with your body, and understand how you think, move and feel day to day. 💛

Because of YOU, this work has been named the 🏆 GOLD winner for Best Alternative Therapies in The Advocate’s Best of Baton Rouge. 🎊

And while I’m incredibly honored that my little corner of the world in functional nutrition and behavior coaching has been recognized, this is really about something deeper.

The work we’re doing is about helping you reconnect to your body after years of dieting and food rules that taught you to tune out your own needs. It’s not forcing arbirtrary change. It’s learning to slow down, tune in, and rebuild trust with yourself in a world that constantly pulls you out of alignment.

So many people have been taught to override their bodies, push through discomfort, or disconnect entirely. Being able to support you in coming back to yourself… that’s the part that really matters.

No matter what my clients’ journeys look like, what they often find is more peace of mind and a sense of calm in the middle of life’s chaos and uncertainty. And from there, they gain the ability to make choices that genuinely feel good and supportive for them.

I truly believe we’re in a shift. More and more people are realizing that health isn’t about “fixing” what’s wrong, but about building a relationship with your body that feels grounded, supported, and nourishing.

I’m so grateful for every single one of you — whether you’ve worked with me, shared your experience, referred a friend, or quietly followed along.

You’ve helped create a space where weight-neutral, body-appreciative care can exist and grow — and that means everything.

It’s an honor to be a small part of it.

Thank you, always. 💛

I’m doing the work too.

The kind of work no one really sees.
Letting go of the expectations of what my body should look like.
Unlearning years of chasing a version of myself that never held without unnatural intervention.

No one knows more about diets and exercise than someone who’s spent their entire life trying to fit into a picture their body was never meant to match.

I’ve done it all.
The restriction.
The starting over.
The “this time will be different.”
The discipline rollercoaster.

And it took a toll.

So this is my new chapter.

I’m buying the clothes.
And wearing them.
Because I like them and they feel good.

I’m not hiding myself.
I’m not choosing clothes based on what’s “flattering.”
I’m not waiting until I “earn” it.

My new journey means:

Less chasing the scale.
More slowing down.
More nourishment.
More appreciation for a body that has carried me through everything - all the ups and all the downs.

Showing up for myself now means letting go of the rules that kept me mentally and emotionally stuck.

Those who don’t know better say this is giving up.

But actually… this is freedom.
