According to the CDC- As of November 8, 2025, there is an ongoing multistate outbreak of Listeria infections linked to precooked pasta meals.

Number of deaths: 6
States affected: 18
Source of infection: Precooked pasta meals, including those sold under the brands FreshRealm, Home Chef, and Marketside
Symptoms:
Listeria infection can cause a variety of symptoms, including:
fever, muscle aches, nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, seizures, and confusion.
High-Risk Groups:
People at higher risk of severe illness from Listeria infection include: Pregnant women, Newborns, Older adults, and People with weakened immune systems.
Prevention:
Avoid consuming precooked pasta meals from the recalled brands.
Thoroughly cook all foods before eating.
Wash hands frequently.
Clean surfaces and utensils that have come into contact with raw foods.
Additional Information:
The CDC has released a warning about the outbreak and is urging consumers to check their fridges for recalled products.
The FDA is investigating the source of the contamination.
