On Wednesday, August 28, 2025, the LAFP hosted the Baton Rouge/Lafayette Area Grand Rounds and Member Social. Our members enjoyed visiting with friends over cocktails before the dinner presentation hosted by the Lafayette Family Medicine Residency Program. Madelyn Lavergne, MD, PGY 3, hosted the CME presentation, “Red Flags and Red Cells: Severe Anemia with a Surprise Culprit”

We were also excited to recognize the following members for their membership anniversary with the LAFP:

The 2026 Medicare physician fee schedule is out. The AAFP is encouraged by several provisions that support primary care. We continue to urge Congress to establish an adequate inflationary update so practices can keep pace with rising costs and patients can access timely care.
