Our very own heart warrior, Brooks made the special delivery this week!
Meet Brooks! 🫀🌟
“At our 20-week appointment, the doctor found some abnormalities they wanted to be checked out with fetal and maternal medicine. We made our appointment with the specialists and that is where we found out that Brooks had pulmonary stenosis, which meant he had no oxygenated blood flow from his heart to his lungs and to the rest of his body. Dr. Haddad, our pediatric cardiologist, brought up this wonderful foundation to our family after choosing to have Brooks in Boston at the Children’s Hospital. We immediately applied for a grant and were incredibly grateful that we were approved. This grant allowed us to get an apartment and live comfortably while visiting every medical appointment before he was born. After Brooks was born, we were there for another month, so it was so nice to be able to go to a “home” rather than staying in a hotel during our whole stay.
Not only did LPCF supply us with a grant, but it also afforded us some wonderful opportunities to meet other families going through the same struggles as we did. I will forever be grateful for this foundation which provides for families during their time of need. Instead of worrying about how we could possibly pay for this, we got to focus on our family and taking care of our son. I am so excited to say that Brooks can live a normal life with no restrictions!”
