Chaz Cooper is not only passionate about his work as BRG’s Director of Nursing at Mid City, but he also works to create spaces where people feel safe, valued, and have the opportunity to grow in all aspects of life.
Chaz leads by example with a heart heavily connected to community and outreach. He served as the 2025 Community Outreach Coordinator at Spoken Work Fellowship, is a member of the board at Front Yard Bike’s and is an active member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, where he currently serves in the Brotherhood Ministry. He teaches Sunday School to young adults and is also a member of the male chorus.
His volunteer spirit is evident. Alongside his family, Chaz has led volunteer efforts through Spoken Word Fellowship at St. Vincent de Paul and the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank, helping provide critical resources to neighbor in need.
Chaz’s commitment to growth and leadership continues to expand. He was recently selected to participate in Leadership Baton Rouge, a 10-month program that equips emerging leaders to better understand and serve the Baton Rouge community. His selection is a testament to the respect he has earned both within BRG and throughout the community.
Chaz’s passion for his family, his patients, helping underserved communities and building future leaders reflects who he is at his core, a leader committed to lifting others up. Whether he’s mentoring young adults, supporting community partners, or guiding his nursing team, he leads with compassion, integrity, and purpose.
