If you frequent our Bluebonnet campus, chances are you’ve been greeted by Sandra Jackson. As a valued member of our environmental services team for the past 4 years, Sandra works tirelessly to keep our facility spotless and welcoming. Whether she’s ensuring hallways shine, helping visitors find their way or greeting coworkers by name, Sandra’s attention to detail and genuine kindness does not go unnoticed. She understands that a clean, safe environment is an essential part of patient care, and she takes that responsibility to heart every single day.

Outside of work, Sandra’s strong sense of community and service is evident in how she spends her spare time. She is dedicated to keeping North Baton Rouge clean, picking up litter and taking initiative simply because she believes in caring for the place she calls home. Her strong sense of self and pride in her surroundings keep her grounded and connected to those around her.

Family is at the center of Sandra’s life, and that deep commitment to caring for others extends naturally into both her work and her volunteer efforts. She leads by quiet example, showing that service doesn’t require recognition, only heart.

We’re proud to continue celebrating Black History Month by recognizing team members who embody service, compassion, and leadership in the workplace and throughout our community.

April Mitchell has been a dedicated member of team BRG since 2013, working as a medical staff assistant II with Surgical Associates alongside Dr. Jeffrey Littleton. With more than 22 years of experience in her field, April brings consistency, knowledge, and warmth to her role each day. Her welcoming smile and positive spirit leave a lasting impression on both coworkers and patients, helping create the supportive environment BRG is known for.

Beyond her daily responsibilities, April’s heart for service is just as evident. She frequently volunteers her time at BRG health screening events, often after hours and on the weekends, further demonstrating her willingness to step in wherever needed.

April’s dedication to service continues outside of work, where she serves as the president of the usher ministry at Union Baptist Church in Brusly. Rooted deeply in her faith and family, April lives by the core belief; that we should treat others the way we want to be treated, a principle that guides her both personally and professionally.
