For our January , we’d like you to meet Bob!

He has lived at Barclay House for a year and a half. He was chosen because he is one of our most involved residents. Bob is very active here, calling bingo, organizing and refereeing our bean bag toss competitions, and taking part in most of our activities. He and his wife frequently go on outings with us, trying new restaurants every week.

One thing he loves about living at Barclay House is the people here. He enjoys playing games and stirring up a little friendly competition.

If he could give one piece of advice to new residents, it would be to get involved in everything that Whealdon has to offer. Taking part in activities keeps you young, and so does socializing during meals. Mealtime is where plans get made and friendships begin. For new residents, he suggests doing as many activities as possible and getting to know everyone who lives here.

Fun fact: He loves sports and all sports-related activities.

Bob has brought so much life to Barclay House, and we are so lucky to have him!

For some our team members, it all began with visiting a parent and returning each week to bring music and connection through the ukulele club. For others, it started with an unexpected job interview that instantly felt familiar and welcoming. What they all describe is the same feeling of comfort, purpose, and belonging.
