Did you know part of the proceeds from stays right here in the diocese? While Catholic Relief Services fights hunger and poverty abroad, a portion of the proceeds helps fund programs like Sanctuary for Life. Sanctuary for Life provides housing for pregnant homeless women. Pick up a rice bowl at your local church or donate directly at crsricebowl.org/give.

During Black History Month, we honor the strength, resilience, and faith of African American families — while also acknowledging challenges that are too often left unspoken.
Did you know?
• African American women experience infertility at nearly twice the rate of white women.
• Only 8% of African American women ages 25–44 seek medical help for infertility, compared to 15% of white women.
• Many report feeling isolated or uncomfortable discussing fertility struggles.

Behind the statistics are women of courage carrying silent pain. This month, as we celebrate Black history, we also commit to breaking stigma and walking alongside families facing infertility. For some, that journey may include adoption, a loving and life-affirming choice that builds families and reflects hope.

At Catholic Charities, we stand ready to support, counsel, and accompany you.
You are not alone! We will be hosting a Prospective Adoption Training in March. If you are interested in starting this journey, please reach out to Jaime Hilton at jhilton@ccdiobr.org.

As power outages leave whole communities in the dark and without heat, Catholic Charities agencies, staff and volunteers are responding to the massive snow and ice storm with warming centers, hot food and more. If you can, please check on vulnerable neighbors and stay safe.

We attended the LA Life March, which began with a beautiful Mass at St. Joseph’s Cathedral!

We were honored to stand with our community to share about our life-saving services, including adoption support and Sanctuary for Life housing for homeless pregnant women, and to be a voice for the most vulnerable.

In order to continue providing these lifesaving services, we need your help. Please consider donating. Your donation directly helps save lives and supports families in need.
