Meet Cristy! She will celebrate 25 years since her first degree at FranU by earning another one 🙌! Yep, you read that right! A small part of Cristy’s story is below, but a culminating part occurs this December when she crosses the stage with her MSN-FNP degree 💙. We are FranU proud of Cristy!

Meet Cristy Gremillion, a proud two-time graduate of FranU. Cristy began her nursing journey at FranU by completing the LPN to ASN track in 2000, and then she returned to earn her BSN in 2015. Now, she’s preparing to graduate with her Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner from FranU in December of 2025. Cristy’s commitment to lifelong learning and compassionate care exemplifies the values of FranU. Her journey reflects the strength of our alumni community and the transformative power of education rooted in service and excellence.

Meet Trey, one of our senior FNP students, who has established himself as a bit of a fixture at FranU! Trey is currently in his 19th semester at FranU and will graduate in December from the MSN-FNP program. We are proud of you, Trey!!

Your story is our story 💙

Meet Trey Parker, a devoted FranU alumnus whose journey is marked by academic excellence, a heart for service, and a deep commitment to faith. He began his academic path at FranU, receiving a BSN in 2022, and will soon complete his Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner in December 2025. After graduation, Trey plans to work in internal medicine at Our Lady of the Lake and pursue a PhD in Nursing Research through The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.

Trey’s connection to FranU runs deep, both professionally and personally. During his time on campus, he met his wife Catherine, who is a fellow FranU alumna that graduated from FranU’s Theology Program. Trey’s story is a testament to the transformative power of education, mentorship, and faith within the FranU community.

As he prepares to finish his 19th semester at FranU, Trey looks forward to staying engaged as an alumnus and continuing to support the university’s mission. His journey is a shining example of the values that define our alumni community.

Fun+Service+Learning=FranU FNP 🙌

Today marked another great day on campus and beyond for our senior FNP students! They participated in our first-ever “solve the patient case” escape room in the SETH 🧐; heard an enlightening presentation from the LA Dept of Health nurse educator on the STI statistics in our state and how they can make a difference (!); researched and discussed case studies involving the social drivers of health; then, we rounded out the day with the Little Wolf Clinic, held this year at Winbourne Elementary 😅. It was a long, but rewarding, day— much like family practice 😉!! Enjoy our pics from the Little Wolf Clinic with the DNP-NA students and kiddos, plus some examples of deliverables created by our FNP students.

The FNP Class of 2025 reached another milestone today by presenting on their evidence-based-practice project proposals. Much was shared, and much was learned 🙌!! Thank you to the Research and Scholarship Committee (RSC) for hosting the School of Nursing (SON) Showcase, and thank you to the Sister Agnes Fitzsimons Endowment for Gerontology for providing refreshments for the event.
Sarah Kerr, one of our seniors, won the Best Poster for the SON, as voted on by the RSC. Congratulations to all our students on a job well done and for being one step closer to graduation!!
