A Prosthodontist is a dental specialist that requires 3 additional years of training after normal dental school. Prosthodontist specialize in the restoration of missing teeth. This can be done with dentures, crowns, and dental implants. Dr. Shannon currently specializes in the treatment of TMJ and has been director of the TMJ Orofacial pain clinic at LSU School of Dentistry for the past 4 years
