May is Mental Health Awareness Month 💚

At the EBRPSS Mental Health Services Department, we believe that mental health is just as important as physical health—for our students, families, and entire community.

Mental health struggles are common, but stigma can prevent individuals from seeking help. This month, we encourage everyone to:
✔ Check in with your children, students, and peers
✔ Listen without judgment
✔ Speak openly about mental health
✔ Seek help when needed

If you or someone you know needs immediate support, call or text **988**, the Su***de and Crisis Lifeline—help is available 24/7.

Wear Green for Mental Health 💚 Join us on May 13th by wearing green to show your support for mental health awareness. Together, we can spark conversations, reduce stigma, and remind our students and community that mental health matters.

Together we can create a community where everyone feels seen, supported, and empowered to care for their mental health.

This month, we celebrate neurodiversity, promote understanding, and honor the unique strengths of students on the autism spectrum. From elementary to high school, every student deserves to feel accepted, supported, and valued for who they are. Early support and ongoing encouragement can greatly influence a student’s confidence, academic achievement, and emotional well-being. Our aim is to empower students to embrace their individuality and navigate school, friendships, and everyday life with confidence.

Thanks to the generous support of The Joe Burrow Foundation and the Rain Will Bring Flowers Foundation, our students were able to walk away with valuable resources to support their well-being.

A special thank you to our LSU intern, Naya Batiste, for leading an engaging session on self-esteem and positive affirmations—your impact was truly meaningful!

We’re already looking forward to the next event! 💙

We support National Minority Health Month by improving health outcomes through our cultures, communities and connections! 🫂

Ms. King, School Social Worker at EBR Readiness High, is making a meaningful impact on student wellness! 💙

Thanks to generous grant support, our girls enjoyed a peaceful and empowering trip to Move Your Body Yoga Studio, where they practiced mindfulness and self-care with yoga instructor, Kim Walker. Meanwhile, our boys stayed active and energized with a special visit from Terrell Robertson of Digg Deep Fitness.

These experiences were all in honor of Teen Mental Wellness Awareness—reminding our students of the importance of caring for both mind and body. 🌱✨

It was an incredible day at Park Forest Middle Creative Sciences and Arts Magnet School EBR Schools with School Social Worker, Mrs. Toliver!

We’re proud to share that 120 bags filled with fidget toys, snacks, and affirmation bracelets were distributed to students. Each bag was thoughtfully created to promote self-care, encourage positive thinking, and remind our teens that their mental health matters.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this event a success and to the The Joe Burrow Foundation and the Rain Will Bring Flowers Foundation for investing in the well-being of our youth. Together, we are making a difference—one student at a time.
