Conveniently located in Battle Creek, Michigan, Bronson Behavioral Health Hospital is a premier provider of inpatient behavioral health treatment for adults age 18 and older. The team at our inpatient psychiatric hospital provides care for people who are suffering from symptoms of any number of mental health concerns, such as bipolar disorder and anxiety, as well as for those who have additional acute concerns and symptoms of thought and mood disorders. Bronson Behavioral Health Hospital offers services in four distinct units, which allows patients to receive inpatient treatment in an environment that is most appropriate for their needs. These units include an adult psychiatric unit that is tailored for people who have thought disorders, an adult psychiatric unit that is focused on patients who have mood disorders, an adult developmental disability unit, and an older adult/geriatric psychiatric unit. Patients in each of these programs receive individualized treatment plans that outline what specific services they will receive while in treatment. Treatment at Bronson Behavioral Health Hospital is delivered by a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including licensed clinical social workers, licensed professional counselors, doctors of psychology, medical doctors, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners. Each of these team members dedicates themselves to ensuring that they treat everyone in their care with the utmost compassion and respect, offering them the support and encouragement they need to be successful on their healing journeys. We believe that everyone should have access to the care they need, and we are dedicated to making the admissions process as easy as possible so that patients are able to begin their treatment experience quickly. We offer free, confidential assessments so that we can gather information about your needs and offer guidance as you decide if the services we provide at our inpatient psychiatric hospital can be of benefit to you. If you have any questions about the treatment we provide or our programming options, we encourage you to contact us at your convenience. You can reach us by phone, or we accept walk-ins.

Finding the right placement for older adults with complex behavioral health needs isn’t always easy.

When medical, cognitive, and psychiatric conditions overlap, options can feel limited and families and providers are often left making difficult decisions.

That’s why we’re excited to welcome Dr. Sarah Contos to Bronson Behavioral Health Hospital.

Dr. Contos is a trained geriatric psychiatrist with a passion for caring for older adults and experience treating complex cases, including her work with veterans.

With her joining our team, we are now able to accept more complex geriatric patients, including those with co-occurring medical and cognitive conditions.

Our goal at Bronson Behavioral Health Hospital is to make it easier for providers and families to access the right level of care when and where it’s needed most.

If you have a loved one that needs psychiatric care, please contact our admission department to schedule a walk- in or talk with a nurse about options at (269) 883-9965.

Women’s History Month is a meaningful time to recognize the extraordinary influence women have had in healthcare. Their commitment to innovation and advocacy has improved systems of care and strengthened patient experiences. Across clinical and supportive roles, women drive excellence.

In rehabilitation, women have played a pivotal role in developing therapies, advancing research, and promoting independence for those on a recovery journey. This month, we celebrate the women whose leadership and compassion continue to make a difference.
