Last but not least, meet Julie.

22 years and multiple positions ago, I began my journey with Evergreen. I’ve enjoyed being a CENA, restorative aid, shower aid, central supply, clerk, and my current position, Life Enrichment Aide.

Though i am grateful for each job, I am truly thankful for activities. It allows me to use my strength and skills to the best advantage for our residents. Especially endearing to me are our residents with dementia. Seeing them enjoy our time together brings joy to my heart.

When I’m not at Evergreen, I enjoy spending time with my granddaughter planning a zombie apocalypse, watching sumo and playing with my five dogs.

I love working with my coworkers who are like family and I love bringing life enrichment to our residents. Also, I must say I’ve got the best boss.

Happy Activities Professionals Week! We truly appreciate you and all of your gifts! Thanks for sharing them with our residents.

Activities Professionals Week- Meet Sheena!

“I was born in Battle Creek at Lakeview Hospital on June 8th 1983. My maiden name is Music -M.U.S.I.C just like it sounds. I grew up in Bellevue and graduated from Maple Valley High School in 2000. I married Josh on March 9th, 2005 in a small ceremony. I have two kids, Clementine (Aaron) who is 26 and Jonas (Ana) who is 22.

I started working for Wvergreen in 200) in Life Enrichment but in 2008 I was involved in an accident and had to take medical leave. This broke me as I knew that was where my heart was. In 2019, I was able to come back to Evergreen in the kitchen, which I loved. Megan from Corporate kind of gave me free run with making desserts. I will forever be grateful to her for that. But I felt still that something was missing. A position in Life Enrichment opened up and I thought, that’s more time with my residents and that is where my heart is. I love walking into the dining room and announcing Good Morning Friends and having their faces light up! I find joy in every one of their smiles. I enjoy learning so much from them, the life some of them have lived are things I learned about in school. Our residents are truly amazing people.

Not to forget about the people I work with, our department - Life Enrichment, has the most amazing people I have ever had the privilege to call not just friends and coworkers, they are family and that is a debt I can never repay.

When I am not working, I enjoy painting and crafting. Art is the most rewarding hobby I have ever had. My husband and I enjoy hiking and long road trips. Everytime I see the mountains I cry because their beauty is soul touching. I feel so small in comparison. Side note, I will probably die trying to pet something that is wild and should not be petted. “ - Sheena

Meet Jonathon. His smile brightens a room! Johnathon started working in the Life Enrichment Department on April 1st, 2025. Happy Activities Professionals Week! We apprecae you!

“My favorite thing about working here is laughing and smiling with the residents, spending time with them and having them be excited to see me when I’m involved. I like knowing that I am making the residents happy.

Outside of work I enjoy swimming, bowling, going to the gym, playing “Magic the Gathering” with friends, going to church and overall spending time with family.

When I started at Evergreen, I hadn’t had a job in a few months and was down to like $40.00 in my pocket, living in my mom’s house and using her vehicle to get around. Now in a little less than a year of being here, I have moved into my own place, purchased my first vehicle, have been getting back into the gym and have been reaching goals I have set for myself and even excelling them! Thanks to my work team and additional advice received from other coworkers and staff, I’ve been pushing myself out of my comfort zone to better my life, time and money. I am forever grateful for my Evergreen Team!” - Johnathon
