For Poverty Awareness Month and to bring awareness to our residents we read “Maddi’s Fridge” a book written by Lois Brandt. This book talks about poverty and hunger. What an important thing to think about. #

Our Resident Ambassadors and Volunteers are the heart of our Community!! Every year they help in planning for our Acts of Service each year. As a small appreciation, each of them received a Valentine’s Goodie Bag. Thank you for all you do!!!

January is Poverty Awareness Month and our Residents have been collecting Non-perishable foods for our Acts of Service. Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church is local to our neighborhood and has a food pantry for anyone to “Take what you need, Leave what you can”. Today Durlene our Resident Ambassador helped to pack up the food and our Resident Services Director Lorie filled the pantry up!! Shout out to Zion and all the people who keep this little pantry going!!!

Today, in honor of National Puzzle Day, Township employees celebrated by giving their brains a little workout with puzzles and brain teasers! Lots of laughter and fun followed!

January is Poverty Awareness Month, and we were blessed to have Lydia from Victory Mission come!! Lydia gave an excellent presentation on Poverty Awareness and what might cause some to fall in this category. Lydia is a success story from going thru the program to now working at Victory Mission. We heard about the expansion of the men’s shelter and how many more men they will be able to help. Our knitting group worked hard to prepare a bag of hats to send for the shelter. Thank you Lydia and Victory Mission!!!

Holocaust Remembrance Day!!
We remembered the millions of Jewish lives that were lost in the Holocaust. There were so many that were murdered and persecuted. Today we wanted to honor the Survivors. We gathered to watch a powerful History with Tony educational presentation. Candles were lit for a moment of prayer.
