Anticipatory Grief- the feeling of grief before the real grief. The sadness when as a daily caregiver you see all the signs of decline, the train is on the track and you want so badly to stop it and hold on to them a little longer or in some cases just derail the train all together, but in this time of grief the goodness of God can be felt and the mercies of the Lord can be seen- its here that my motto for dealing with this pain was born "we can't offer them anything at all that could possibly compare to heaven" and with that one very significant, powerful truth it somehow makes it a little easier to love and let go, over and over. Last night we said see you later to Ms. Janie. Our staff have loved and cared for her well over the past 19 months and are forever grateful to her amazing family for allowing us the honor β€οΈ
A wonderful teacher for 38 years, Pastor's Wife, a high heel wearer, along with being a mother and grandparent who adored her grandchildren- we wish we could have heard our Savior when he told you Well Done.
A disease took her memory and her voice in some ways, however even until the end it wasn't able to take her praise, in song she still praised our Savior, very well. Always remembering every word to her favorite hymns and one of her favorite songs -- π΅
I'd simply ask for a favor of him beyond mortal king
And I'm sure that he'd grant it again
I want to stroll over Heaven with you some glad day
When all our troubles and heartaches are vanished away
Then we'll enjoy the beauty where all things are new
I want to stroll over Heaven with you π
