Hey everyone, it’s Kirsten. As you all know, we continue to have issues with insurance companies and the shenanigans they are continuing to pull on us and our patients. I have agreed to join forces with a few providers and move forward to try and make a difference! Please take a moment to read below and help if you can!!
I have a “calling” (nagging irritation has turned into burning passion) to make a difference and I NEED YOUR HELP!
I am completely at a loss with our healthcare systems, insurance companies, and drug companies dictating our care. During COVID many of the processes in place and checks and balances were suspended, crazy policies have been implemented, and things have spiraled out of control leaving you the patients, and me a small business owner/providers swinging in the wind…with no recourse or clear path to follow for resolution.
Your healthcare decisions are not left to you and your physician, it is dictated by lackies at a desk in an office who have never even laid eyes on you.
I was told last week by a physician that to order an MRI she had to call BCBS and have a PEER review and approval. While that was happening, on day 2 patient ends up in ER and having surgery…..Say what?? So, this created a delay of timely and safe care, creating now a tactical emergent response, disruption to the doctor/patient relationship/workflow….and now some non practicing doc is going to dictate care based on the dollars left in a pot.
The answer is NO folks!!
If you know of someone or YOU have been having issues with insurance coverage, medication shortages, denials, or pre authorization issues, hold times or simply speaking to a human….PLEASE MESSAGE ME!
I am collecting a data base, letters from businesses, insurance billers, physicians, nurses, RT’s, radiology…..anyone with a license and patients! If you have an NPI, or license # please add it to your letter of concern. If you are a patient, please put your phone number on the letter so that it can be fact checked or investigated should there be questions.
I will scream from the roof tops if needed, media, every state, and National politician if I have to. Enough is enough!
The insurance companies are out of control and it is time we speak up. If not, where will we be in 5 years.
