John Patterson, 98, formerly of Collins, Iowa, passed away on Monday, December 29, 2025, at Rock Creek Senior Living, in Ankeny, Iowa, surrounded by his loving family. His funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Hendersons Funeral & Cremation Care in Des Moines. Burial will follow in the Merle Hay Musoleum in Des Moines.

Marilyn "Shorty" Lea Hill, aged 84, of McCallsburg, Iowa, peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at her beloved farm, surrounded by her adoring family. A visitation in her honor will take place on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at Bethany Lutheran Church in McCallsburg from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Her funeral service will be on Monday, November 24, 2025, at Bethany Lutheran Church at 1:00 p.m., led by Pastor Staci Winborn. She will be laid to rest at Warren Township Cemetery in McCallsburg following her funeral service.
