My 200YTT certification with YogaRenew is in multi-style yoga with a focus on meditation. I offer group and private sessions in Slow Flow, Gentle Yoga, Vinyasa, and meditation. Generally, sessions start with a breathing exercise, a short meditation followed by poses, and ending with Savasana--our resting pose. Sessions are sequenced for beginners, first time yogis, and those more familiar with yog

a. I was a student of yoga for many years; but, more recently, came to my mat with an interest in meditation, with an intention to bring a greater of mindfulness to my life. For me, personally, yoga and meditation go hand in hand. If there is an ease in the mind, there is a much better chance for ease in the body. And, likewise, if the body is relaxed, the mind may follow. I encourage you to approach your practice with kindness, go easy on yourself, not comparing yourself with others, not worrying about each pose. Together in sessions, we’ll focus on practice, not perfection. If you’re new to yoga, it’s not important to be flexible. If your new to meditation, your mind may not be still. Sustained practice will help to allow inner stillness. Over time, yoga will allow flexibility. You’ll body will become stronger. You may notice other lifestyle differences as you continue to practice--relaxation, patience, more restful sleep, healthier eating patterns, a clearer mind. Over time meditation can lead to a keener self-awareness, self-understanding, and self-transformation. Thank you for seeking out my posts and I look forward to you joining a session!

Happy to let you know I’ve joined the team at Soul Fit, a downtown Bay City studio dedicated to fostering a positive relationship with movement and self. I was drawn to Soul Fit by their design of ‘a sanctuary for nurturing both body and mind’.

I strongly believe in a balanced and holistic lifestyle. My goal for myself and my students is flexibility for today’s activities and for longevity of life. My concentration is somatic yoga which emphasizes body-mind integration to improve coordination and mobility to keep doing the things you love for longer!

Somatic emphasizes body-mind integration to improve coordination and mobility. Somatics rely on small, slow, gentle movements to create body awareness, emotional alignment, and relaxation.

What to bring:
Yoga mat (a must!)
Yoga strap (a must! A long scarf or belt will do.)
Small pillow (optional)

Hello yogis! Just a catch up…

I’ve been studying and practicing a form of yoga introduced to me while in Guatemala. Thanks to the wonderful I’m 100% captivated!

Somatic, meaning ‘embodied’ or ‘of the body,’ emphasizes body-mind integration to improve coordination and mobility. Our muscles can become tight or restricted due to habitual patterns, emotional stress, injuries, or trauma. Somatic yoga relies on small, slow, gentle movements to create body awareness, emotional alignment, and relaxation.

I haven’t yet returned to group instruction; but, when I do, I’ll be excited to share this new practice!
