Jesse Lee Marie England, age 35, of Ypsilanti, Michigan, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2026. She was a beloved daughter, sister, and friend whose warmth, curiosity, and deep compassion for others left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Jesse was raised on a family farm in Camden, Michigan, where she spent her earliest years developing a profound love of animals and the natural world. Whether tending to dogs, cats, or chickens, she discovered early on a calling to nurture and protect the creatures and people most vulnerable around her — a calling she would carry throughout her life.

She attended Camden Elementary School before attending Tecumseh Middle and High School. She furthered her education at Washtenaw Community College, then earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a Master's Degree in Education from Eastern Michigan University. Mark Allen Hudson, known as Mark and held in loving memory, was born on March 17, 1971, in Lansing, Michigan, and passed away on April 14, 2026, in Eaton Rapids, Michigan, after a courageous battle with cancer.

William Larry Hepler

William Larry Hepler known as Bill was born to William Roy and Sylvia Hepler in Pontiac, Michigan.

He spent his early years in Pontiac, but he went on to graduate from Waterford Township High School after the family moved. He continued his education at Oakland Community College, earning an associate degree and distinguishing himself with a natural talent for mathematics.

In 1968, Bill answered the call to serve his country, entering the Army and completing basic training before being deployed to Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in December 1969. It was during basic training that he formed one of the most enduring friendships of his life — meeting Tom Hoard of Oxford, who would remain a lifelong friend.

Eric Michael Levengood, age 52, passed away on January 11, 2026. He was born on January 7, 1974.

Eric’s favorite season was summer. He truly came alive in the warm weather and spent as much time as possible outdoors. He loved being near the water, fishing whenever he had the chance, and enjoying the peace that came with long days outside. The Fourth of July was especially meaningful to him. Each year, Eric proudly put on his own fireworks display, one that became a tradition and was known to be as impressive as professional shows.

By trade, Eric was a painter, a skill he took pride in throughout his working life. Eric loved his children very much, and they were always important to him.

Stephen Dennis Howell, age 80, of Midland went to be with his Lord on December 15, 2025. The eldest child of the late Russell Howell and the late Phyllis Howell. Stephen was born in Des Moines on May 13, 1945. He graduated from high school in Des Moines, IA and went on to further his education by obtaining a Bachelor of Science Degree from Simpson College, then a Master's degree in Secondary School Administration and Educational Specialist Degree from Central Michigan University. He worked for various school districts as teacher, principal, football coach and administrator. He was affectionately known as " Coach" by his students in Twining, MI and even attended their latest class reunion in August. Jack Battin, age 90, of Prescott, Michigan, formerly of Grand Blanc and Vernon, Michigan, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2025. He was born on September 5, 1935, in Flint, Michigan, to the late Ward and Charlotte (Thompson) Battin.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Vincent Battin, and his daughter, Katheryn Battin.

Jack was honored and recognized as a father figure, role model, and mentor to friends and family alike.

Jack was a devoted family man — a true “jack of all trades,” a proud U.S. Air Force veteran, lay minister, and UAW Chaplain for Lansing GM for 18 years. He retired after 36 years of service as an inspector. While serving in the Air Force as a weapons armament mechanic, he received the National Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.

Daniel “Dan” J. McIntosh, age 72 of Elkton, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, January 1, 2026. Dan was born in Bad Axe on November 12, 1953, son of Archibald and Mary (McCormick) McIntosh. He married the love of his life, Sylvia Coffman on August 23, 1975.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sylvia, Daughter Rachel Apley of Essexville, son Michael (LeAnne) McIntosh of Bad Axe. Grandchildren Zachary and Natalie Apley, Mariah (Jeremy) Will, Jalie and Chase McIntosh. Brother Rory (Mary) McIntosh and sister Denise Gibbs. Several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents Archibald and Mary McIntosh, Brother Archie “Pat” McIntosh, and Son-in-Law Michael Apley.

Preston Lee Taylor, known affectionately as Preston to his family and friends, passed away on December 26, 2025, at the age of 70, due to heart failure in Bay City, Michigan. Born on July 29, 1955, in Montgomery, West Virginia, Preston was a man whose life was marked by dedication, love, and an unwavering spirit of generosity.



Preston's journey began in the rolling hills of West Virginia, but it was in Bay City, Michigan, where he spent his final moments, surrounded by the love of his family. He leaves behind his cherished wife of 51 years, Karen Taylor, and their three devoted sons, James (April) Taylor, David (Autumn) Taylor, and Mark (Tabitha) Taylor. Preston's legacy continues through his four grandchildren: Shawn, Landon, Haileieh, and Bella, who will miss their grandfather's wisdom and gentle presence. Thomas (Tom) William Sanders passed away peacefully on December 24,2025 at 73 yrs old. He was born on February 15, 1952 to RV and Dorthy (Pascoe) Sanders in Alma, MI.

Tom graduated from Breckenridge JR/ SR High School in 1970.

He attended Northern Michigan University and then transferred to Central Michigan University. Upon leaving Central in 1974, he went on to Wayne State University to pursue his Mortuary Science degree and graduated in 1975. Tom moved to Lansing, Mi. and worked for Estes-Leadley Funeral Home for years. Upon leaving the funeral home, he started his own business, Great Lakes Phlebotomy. He retired and moved to Alma to be closer to his family.

Tom was a devout Catholic, at one point, talked of becoming a Priest. Tom traveled all over Europe throughout the years and he always brought home souvenirs and chocolates for family.
