Thank you to everyone who participated in our FAN "Reframing The Response" summit. We must continue to examine our policies and procedures surrounding substance use disorder and honestly assess if they are effectively helping people find and maintain recovery. Many of them keep people in a cycle of active use, incarceration and misery. Lets do more things that have a positive outcome, like jail diversion and deflection programs.

Cpt. Mario Bastianelli from Sterling Heights Police Department shared that his community had reduced overdoses by 63% and fatal overdoses by 45%. Participating in all 3 of FAN's programs - Hope Not Handcuffs, ComeBack Quick Response Teams and Redirect, has contributed to that positive change. https://faceaddictionnow.org/programs/jail-diversion
