Welcome Hazeezat Sh*ttu, MD, Family Medicine/Obstetrics.

Dr. Sh*ttu joins MMG from New York. She attended Sophie Davis Biomedical Education Program, CCNY for her undergraduate degree and completed her medical degree at The City University of New York (CUNY). She then spent three years in family medicine residency and two years in an obstetrics fellow at University of Texas Health Science Center Department of OB/GYN. She will be delivering babies at MRMC.

Dr. Sh*ttu enjoys singing, dancing, reading and spending time with family and friends. She is excited to start her practice in Bay City.

MMG Welcomes Randy Volkmer II, MD

Matagorda Medical Group is proud to welcome Matagorda County native, Dr. Randy Volkmer II, to our team. A 2012 graduate of Bay City High School, Dr. Volkmer went on to earn his undergraduate degree at Texas A&M University and his medical degree at Texas A&M College of Medicine. He then completed a rigorous five-year orthopedic surgery residency at Baylor Scott & White in Temple.

Dr. Volkmer and his wife, Dr. Callan Volkmer, a practicing pediatrician, are raising their son, Trey, along with their loyal dog, Hank, here in Bay City. For the Volkmer family, this isn’t just a place to practice medicine—it’s home.

Dr. Volkmer will provide a full range of orthopedic services to patients right here in our community, county and region.
