At 1:28 p.m., the quake made its retort.

The epicenter was located southwest of Cobb, 2.9 miles away,
Clearlake felt its rumble, 13.5 miles south-southwest, they say.
Healdsburg, north-northeast, at a distance of 13.8 miles,
And Windsor, 17.1 miles north, witnessed nature's trials.

But the story did not end with a single quake's might,
For at 2:23 p.m., another tremor took flight.
A preliminary 3.0 magnitude earthquake, it was found,
Striking the same area, shaking the ground.

Mother Earth's power, in these tremors we see,
Reminding us of her might and our vulnerability.
