✨ Feature Friday ✨

Meet Mary, one of our amazing registered nurses! 💙

👩‍⚕️ She brings not only her compassion and dedication to her patients but also her creativity and love for the arts. Did you know she’s been a dancer since she was 2 and a dance teacher for nearly 20 years? 🩰💃

☕ Coffee keeps her fueled, and her go-to is a blonde vanilla latte.

🍂 She’s all about autumn vibes—from cozy sweaters to crisp fall days.

📺 When she’s not caring for others, you’ll find her watching her favorite crime scene shows (especially the Taken series 👀).

👯 Fun fact: Mary has a twin sister and younger twin brothers—yes, that’s two sets of twins in one family!

👩‍👧‍👦 And her proudest role? Being mom to her two beautiful kiddos, who she loves more than anything. ❤️

We’re so grateful to have Mary on our team! 🌟

✨ Myth Buster Monday ✨
Myth: “UTIs are always caused by poor hygiene.” 🚫

💡 Truth: While hygiene plays a role in urinary health, most UTIs are caused by bacteria (like E. coli) moving from the gut to the urinary tract.

Other risk factors include:
• Menopause & hormonal changes
• Sexual activity
• Certain contraceptives (like spermicides)
• Diabetes
• Structural or functional urinary tract issues

👉 Having a UTI does not mean someone is “unclean.” It’s a medical condition, not a judgment.

Meet one of our amazing STARS physical therapists, Laura Hendrick! With over 22 years of experience, she’s especially passionate about all things pelvic floor 💪.

Her favorite holiday? Groundhog Day! 🦫 (extra special since her twins were born that day). And here’s a fun fact—Laura has crushed not one, but TWO half Ironman races 🏊‍♀️🚴‍♀️🏃‍♀️.

We’re so lucky to have her on our team! 💙

🚫 Myth: Drinking less water prevents bladder leaks

✅ Truth: Dehydration irritates the bladder and worsens urgency.

Don’t ditch your water bottle! 💧 Staying hydrated keeps your bladder healthier and may reduce urgency and irritation.

“Reducing fluid intake does not prevent incontinence and can actually make symptoms worse. Concentrated urine can irritate the bladder and increase urgency.”
