Body doesn’t care about the difference between a scheduled yoga class and the random 10 minutes we devote to moving in a robe on the balcony. Every time we consciously move our bodies, we are creating magick inside of our cells.

It all matters. It all counts. It’s all medicine.

The cost of not moving, versus moving in ways that feel gentle and accessible in the now moment, is this:

“When we don’t understand and appreciate human movement, we won’t really understand ourselves or play.

Learning about self-movement creates a structure for an individual’s knowledge of the world, space, time, and our relationship to others.

Movement play lights up the brain and fosters learning, innovation, flexibility, adaptability, and resilience.

In Slowmatics we are fully realizing movement by taking our time to tune in.

We become aware of the subtle details and qualities of our movements so that we can trust what we are feeling and sensing in our bodies.

This process grows new neuronal connections for efficient movement patterns and ways of being which naturally work their way into our daily lives.

When we feel truly safe in our body…

We can play with life instead of trying to control it

Living becomes restful and play states can blossom naturally from this foundation. More opportunities make themselves known to us and we feel freedom to move and live in ways that feel authentic to our bodies.

This little flow took me a few minutes - it’s quite sped up here. I usually feel a little tight in the mornings, especially in my neck and jaw. I like to start slow so I can find my own rhythm and feel my whole body organizing together to move.

I spent years trying to fix my posture and my anterior pelvic tilt when I really just needed to sing love songs to myself & communicate to my body that it was safe, in a way that it could understand….

Hey everyone! I’ll be teaching the next three Saturdays at 8:45 am and the last Sunday (26th) of the month at 11:15am.

What is Slowmatics?

Slowmatics is somatic movement for neurodivergent bodies. I created because I recognized a gap in what traditional movement practices offer and where myself, many of my clients, and community members are starting -

Are you neurodivergent?

Neurodivergence = PTSD, Autism, ADHD, AuDHD, chronic physical/mental illness, chronic pain and disability. (Self diagnosis is valid and supported.)

As a hyper mobile, highly masked, Autistic/ADHD, woman with a history of chronic pain and pelvic dysfunction-

My classes focus on supporting the nervous system, accessibility, comfortable movement, and beginner style poses with modifications available for more advanced practice.

It’s is a slow, sensory-based movement modality that helps you reconnect with your body through vocal expression, pandiculation, micro-movements, self-touch, and awareness.

You will be invited to move in new ways and it may feel weird and uncomfortable at first.

Why the body responds to slow...

When we slow down, we can feel what is actually happening in the body - what is working too hard, what is not working enough, and where we are holding tension.

From that awareness, the body begins to release what doesn’t feel natural anymore, in its own time….
giving the nervous system better information so the body can relax more fully into each present moment.

When the body is no longer holding as much tension, energy that was being used to hold and brace becomes available for movement, creativity, and expression.

In my personal experience:

Slowmatics allowed me to reconnect with my passion for all forms of movement with more freedom than I’ve ever felt and zero pain.

I love advising and being advised!

It helps our minds expand into other realms of possibilities and ways of being.

But honestly - We all just wanna hear what to do so that our future selves will thank us… ya know?

And most of the time we already know exactly what that is way better than the person we are asking.

The silent space after asking a question is so sacred- it will reveal the answer (even if it’s not the one you were hoping for or will listen to right now)

My entire life changed when I learned this one thing about my body — and all bodies:

The body is the conduit for abundance.

Think about it — you can’t experience anything in this life without your body.

So why would abundance be any different?

The body is the portal through which life is experienced —
and through which life is expressed and created.

When the body is nourished, life begins to feel nourishing.

And the beautiful part is…

Nothing extravagant has to change for that to happen.

Because our capacity to receive life through the body
is our true abundance.

This is why I created Slowmatics —
a practice that helps us nourish the body
so life itself begins to feel more nourishing.

And when that happens,
nothing else has to change.

Slow spirals in the pelvis clarify our path forward by churning the energies of discernment in our body.

Slowness improves neurological clarity. 🧐✨

The pelvis contains a huge amount of proprioceptive input (information about position and movement).

It’s connected to:
• the sacrum
• the SI joints
• the hip joints
• the pelvic floor
• deep core muscles

These areas constantly send signals to the brain about:
• balance
• direction
• stability

Slow movement increases the brain’s ability to read those signals. 😍

So when you move the pelvis slowly (like in pelvic clocks), you’re essentially turning up the volume on the body’s navigation system.

And then you realize… your body is what you’ve been looking for 🧡

We are never guaranteed safety…

But isn’t it so cool that our bodies can help us feel safe,

even through the uncertainty and chaos that life absolutely does guarantee?

One of the most fascinating things about being a human is that I know that I can die at any second and I can still walk around feeling delighted, cozy, and safe.

I can experience emotions that shake me to my core - and I can still feel safe inside of my own body.

I can also be a safe space for others in my inner relational orbit.

My felt sense of safety doesn’t come from what the external world offers me in any given moment-

It doesn’t come from avoiding feeling discomfort

It doesn’t come from the comforting words of another - (although this is supportive, it’s not inherently required by nature for me to feel safe)

The essence of safety comes from being inside my body and being present with my somatic experience.

I taught this simply luxurious 15 minute sequence a few days ago - sped up for your viewing pleasure.

Afterwards we both felt our hips breathe a sigh of relief - a somatic signal of safety and inner alignment.

I am now teaching at The Hive in downtown Elyria and I would love for you to experience what Slowmatics can offer you.
