Continuing our Veterans Day recognition, we’re honored to highlight Kristen Scott, IOP Counselor at St. Gregory Recovery Center. Kristen served in the U.S. Army during the Gulf War era in 1995 at just 19 years old.

Kristen shared, "My service was cut short due to being medically discharged with a broken sternum, so I served less than a year, but the experience shaped how I view service, teamwork, and sacrifice. I have also been on the other side and served as a military spouse for 25 years.

My MOS was 91H which is Track Vehicle Repair which is keeping tanks and armored vehicles in good working order through maintenance and repair.

I think that serving in the military as a woman is my proudest moment because it is something that I never thought I would do. Having served makes me passionate about continuing to work with veterans when we have them at St. Gregory and continuing volunteer opportunities with homeless veterans."

We’re deeply grateful for Kristen’s service, her compassion, and her continued dedication to helping others every day.
