🚨STOLEN VEHICLE PURSUIT AND ARREST 🚨
Tuesday morning at 10:15, MBPD Patrol units received a stolen vehicle alert on Eagle Drive near IH-10 and quickly spotted the vehicle as it turned eastbound onto the service road. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle as it entered the interstate, but the driver chose to flee east bound.
As two MBPD units pursued the suspect, our Texas DPS Highway Patrol partners assisted and successfully deployed a tire-deflation device which disabled the suspect vehicle near the 813 mile marker.
The driver/sole occupant, 38-year old Khamvilay Cartagena-Gonzale of Trenton, New Jersey was arrested for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Evading w/Motor Vehicle, and an outstanding felony theft warrant out of New Jersey.
A great example of professional police work and inter-agency partnerships to bring this high-speed pursuit to a safe end and recover a stolen vehicle undamaged.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWDHa73jkHg STATEMENT from Baytown Police Media Relations 06.23.25: Yesterday, officers were dispatched around 1:30 p.m. to a crash involving three vehicles near the feeder road at Decker Drive, Highway 146, and Lanier. One adult male was transported to the hospital by EMS, and a child was Life Flighted in critical condition. Injury status of both is currently unknown.

Crash Reconstruction is currently investigating the incident. All other parties involved were released.
