It’s such a beautiful afternoon. Looked for the monarch caterpillars who have all departed from the milkweed. At last count I had ten caterpillars but have only found six. So far. I will keep searching.❤️🐛

Pine needles, I love them. They don’t blow away, they don’t wash away and they keep other mulch in place. As they break down they are soft under bare feet. This one tree provides the needles I use throughout the year. I have heard many people talk badly about pine trees but I love my pine tree. These needles were raked up today and applied to the pathways in my garden. How do you use pine needles?🌲😊❤️

Even the smallest addition can help the wildlife around your garden. This little toad went for a swim in a little bottle that is holding water. These are just random bottles I have near a small water feature in my garden. 🐸❤️

Yesterday I cleared my walk paths and shoveled the soil onto the adjoining beds. Next I layered branches and leaves in the trench. Will add a top layer of pine needles to keep oak leaves in place. Similar to a huglekultur method without the big logs. I want this material to break down a little quicker. Over the next couple of years I will add more leaves as they break down and settle. Then I will repeat the whole process again.

Hello friends, it’s been a long time since I’ve posted anything on this page. As I prepare the soil for my fall garden it inspired me to revive this page once again. The garden at the corner of DeFee and Pruett no longer exists, it is now a small garden on a side yard at my house. Alimento Yard is my new project with the same mission to grow food and teach others how to grow food. In the following weeks I will post as I plant and grow my fall garden. Visi my page for future updates. Happy gardening!

My baby tomatoes are looking good. I am excited to have them started so early. Get outside and grow something. 🍅❤️

This will be the last post from the garden. The property has been sold and I will no longer be gardening there. I want to thank everyone for your support over the years. I hope I have helped some of you along the way. I encourage everyone to continue gardening in your yards. This is the way to better nutrition. I will always be available to answer questions and help however I can. I am very happy to have been a part of the community, your community for all these years. I hope y’all have enjoyed the garden. ❤️
