Social wellbeing is one of “The Wellbeing Core Five” necessary for healthy, happy living. Social wellbeing refers to building supportive, positive relationships and connecting with a community or group. Maintain social wellbeing to boost:

Mental Health: Studies show individuals with strong social networks and a sense of belonging are less likely to experience depression, anxiety, or poor mental health.

Physical Health: Engaging socially on a regular basis may lower chronic disease such as heart and diabetes, and often prompts exercise and healthy eating.

Longevity: Strong social networks can help us live longer than those who are isolated.

Career Success: Networking and building professional relationships can lead to opportunities for advancement and career growth.

Emotional wellbeing is an essential aspect of overall health and wellbeing. Here are some reasons why emotional wellbeing is important:

1. Improved Mental Health: Emotional wellbeing and mental health determine the quality of our lives. Managing our feelings is essential to good mental health. When we are emotionally well, we are better equipped to manage stress, fear, anxiety, and depression.

2. Enhanced Physical Health: Our thoughts are connected to all the cells in our body. Negative emotions from chronic stress and anger have been linked to physical health issues such as heart disease, digestive disorders, and weakened immune function. It’s
proven that positive thoughts improve our health.

3. Better Relationships: High emotional wellbeing enables us to build and maintain positive relationships. When we are emotionally balanced, we are better able to think rationally, have empathy, patience and communicate effectively with others.

4. Greater Productivity: Emotional wellbeing is also important for sharper, clearer thinking. When we are emotionally well, we are better able to focus, concentrate, and make sound decisions, which can lead to increased productivity and success.

5. More Fulfilling Life: When we are emotionally well, we are stronger and bolder to take on challenges or seek out adventure. With emotional wellbeing we can achieve tangible results and have a greater sense of purpose, meaning, and happiness in our lives.

Life is tough without a strong core. The Wellbeing Core 5 is the center of Simply Strong! We have based our entire program on Emotional, Physical, Intellectual, Career, and Social Wellbeing.

Why? According to research conducted by scientists at Gallup, "While 66% of people are doing well in at least one of these areas, just 7% are thriving in all five. If we're struggling in any one of these domains, as most of us are, it damages our well-being and wears on our daily life. When we strengthen our well-being in any of these areas, we will have better days, months, and decades. But we're not getting the most out of our lives unless we're living effectively in all five."
