beBhakti Yoga

beBhakti Yoga beBhakti Yoga offers classes that focus on movement as a form of meditation, Kirtan, guest speakers and workshops. This is beBhakti yoga!

beBhakti Yoga Center in Beacon, NY is the realization of a dream: to create a sacred, playful space for all to experience Bhakti. Bhakti in Sanskrit means to love or to devote. It is the awareness that to love others, and ourselves involves not only practice, but also the action of surrender. Getting to know ourselves on the mat helps us practice connecting to our fullest potential off the mat. Be

acon represents a sacred place in nature, where the water meets the mountains signifying union. A place just within us, that creates oneness. Be devoted to loving yourself

Santosha means contentment, not in a sense of complacency or even elation, but rather an inner acceptance of external circumstances. Through santosha we cultivate hope rather than despair, something we need more than ever.

Save the date: next workshop on February 2nd!

New workshop at beBhakti!
Move with the Wisdom of the Elements
This is a 1.5 hour workshop, offered twice a month at Be Bhakti Yoga by Dr. Maryam Wootan, Acupuncturist and Polarity Therapist in Beacon. We will connect with the five elements: ether, air, fire, water and earth. Using theater warm up exercises as a base, we will explore the theories of the five elements with our body and voice. Each element has a positive and a negative pole and by connecting to the neutral space we can bring those polarities into balance. We will explore the theories with an experiential approach, sensing, feeling and recognizing our behavioral patterns. We each have tendencies towards one or two elements, and sometimes the key to our issues is simply embodying another element. My hope is to create a safe space where we can explore, experiment and share with one another. And creating an ongoing momentum to help one another heal, grow and learn
